Unless you want a gyser, you should switch to a blow-off if you haven't already. Just attach a tube to the inner part of the airlock and put the other end of the tube in sterile water.

i had my roomate crack the lid to relieve the preasure.
Blow off tube will be my next purchase.
It was in the closet but i thought the tub is now a better place given the circumstances.

Pantene is an interesting choice of adjunct. Let us know how it turns out.

Got it all cleaned up. Cleaned everything with my sanitizer, filled the airlock back up with sani-water and its bubbling away nicely. I'm going to keep a close eye on it. It wasn't in the tub to begin with, it was in a closet. I get a flurry of txt's from my roommate along the lines of "this thing is going CRAZY in here! It's going to blow up!" After it overwhelmed the air lock i had him put it in the tub and burp the top a few times.
^ thanks for the pantene comment, ohh master of the obvious.
How long does the aggressive yeast action that causes this type of behavior last? Do i not have to worry about it past day 1 or 2?

When i have a real aggressive fermentation, the height of it passes about 48 hours into it..but def continues to ferment beyond that.
