I'm thinking of trying a homebrew competition, even if I don't win just to get some feedback from beer experts.

Really sorry to gloat but I have to share my day yesterday, I think you can appreciate it.
None of this was planned, it just happened to come together in a perfect storm.
Was able to brew an IPA in the afternoon. About halfway through found out about winning best of show. SWMBO then took me to Monks Cafe in Philly where I had my first Pliny (surprisingly balanced), my first Supplication (just silly good) and a Nogne Brown (not as good but interesting). On the way home got the scoresheets from the comp and scored a 43 from one judge and a 44 from the other (proof that a blind squirrel can find a nut)
