hey guys,

I just tried my first beer today which is a blonde ale which has been in the bottle for ten days. It tasted really smooth except for a kind of weird aftertaste. Just wondering if anyone has experienced it yet and if it goes away with more time in the bottle.

way too early. I dont crack my first bottle of a batch for at least 3 weeks. A blonde should peak at 4 month. Patience grasshopper, brew another batch, then another, then another. You get the idea. Drinking a beer green is akin to pedophelia.

You have one of the most common first time brewer's issues, we've all experienced it..it's called "green beer."

At 10 days your beer really isn't done full carbing and especially bottle coditioning. You started drinking it way too soon.

Read this for more info Revvy's Blog, Of Patience and Bottle Conditioning

And pull your beer out of the fridge and let them sit at room temp for a few more weeks.

It will be much better....:mug:

Ha! I am now officially a fanatic, i beat revvy to a green beer post!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I had to go find the link to my blog....:D

Good job my friend!!!

"A Padwan no longer, becoming a Jedibrewer, are you!"

Just give that answer 20-30 times a day to all the other noobs (and give me a break) and a Jedi Brewer you will forever be.
