Hi everyone! I've been lurking around here for a few months trying to learn as much as I can, and I can't thank you all for the experience you've poured (pun intended) out for all of us to learn from! This is my first post, and I am excited to bottle my first beer, a Belgian Dubbel. From my research and calculations on BeerSmith 2, it looks like I want a carb volume between 2.5 - 3.2. At 70 degrees, it looks like my corn sugar primer would be at 5.27 oz if I shoot for the middle of the carb vol numbers. My question is, does this look correct or am I going to blow things up? Thank you you all for any help! I'm totally all-in on this addiction!
Cheers!

If this is for a 5 gallon batch it seems perfect to me. I have used 6.43 oz in a Belgian the past with no ill effects. Let us know how it turns out!

Ahhh so I could go up to the 3.2 carb vol and be ok. Thank you! I definitely will let you know how it turns out!

So going to the carb vol of 3.2 will be safe, thank you for your help! I will definitely let you know how it comes out!

Absolutely the hardest part! I'm going to give them at least 3-4 weeks before even looking at them, and more like 3-4 months for the true conditioning to begin on this Dubbel.

Which translates to "Get to brewing batch 2 quickly." If you brew something that you can enjoy a little quicker, you may (should) be finishing that before you're into this batch. Congrats on the first brew!
