Did my first all-grain batch this afternoon and nearly everything went flawlessly :rockin:. I got to test out my new picnic cooler mash tun and my new converted keggle. I had to a gallon of water after the boil to get back up to 5 gallons because I didn't have enough water in my 2nd and 3rd runnings and because my boil was a lot more vigorous than what I planned on. Cooled it and transferred it to the Better Bottle and pitched the yeast. This is a picture of it in it's new home next to its older, more Belgian, brother.
Is that huge line of trub normal? Keep in mind that is only about 1/2 hour after pitch. Don't think I've ever had that much trub this quickly. Anyway, I'm not too worried about it. I'm off to $0.35 wings and Guinness on draught.
