Quick question regarding using Brett. I will be making a all Brett C saison this weekend and I have gotten alot of conflicting info regarding equipment seperation. first and foremost I will be using different hosing , racking cane, etc for the transfers but would I be ok using my standard 6.5 gallon glass carboy or do I need to dedicate a carboy as well ? I would probably clean with bleach for 24 hours after my 2 month fermentation has completed and would probably starsan the crap out of it as well ( I know this is overkill ). I would rather ask you great people before I do something stupid ( stupider than normal at least ) and infect my brewhouse with wild yeast. Proust :mug:

The glass carboy should be just fine - no need to get another. It sounds like you plan on cleaning the snot out of it after, which is a great idea. Otherwise, I think you've separated all the (potential) problem equipment.

I would go get a platic 6 gal bucket. they are cheap and then you dont have to worry. Your sanitation seems fine so you most likely wouldn't get an infection but for the price of a 10.00 bucket it's not worth it to me. But, it's your process, do what works for you. cheers

Would it be ok to leave it in a plastic bucket for the whole time ? I am under the impression Brett works very slowly in the order of 2+ months. I would think glass is better for less risk of oxygen exposure etc . Though believe me I would rather go plastic as I already have 3 of them that do nothing at the moment.
