Hello,

I was going to brew something similar to the 15 minute american ale featured on Brewing Basics. I was going to up the Simcoe hops to 3oz though.

http://www.basicbrewing.com/index.php?page=may-26-2011-15-minute-american-ale

The recipe I'm going to use is
1 lb 60L Crystal Malt (160 degree steep - 30 minutes)
6.5 lbs Light DME
3 oz Simcoe (15 minutes)
2 oz Amarillo (5 minutes)
2 oz Cascade (Flame Out)
5 Gallon Batch
Liquid Wyeast American Ale or Denny Conn Strain

I'm new at this still, this will be my third batch, and I'm trying to experiment with late addition hops, so this recipe stood out to me.

Any thoughts on how it looks overall? Any other suggestions for additional/different steeped grains

Idk why they call it an APA.? It looks more like a n AIPA with all those hops in a 5G batch. You could even add 5mins to each hop addition, making them 20 mins,10mins,& 10min steep at flame out. Maybe do the steep addition with 1oz,then use the remaining 1oz to dry hop.
