These are now up to $15 shipped, but there are 1500w units for $8.99 shipped, buy two get one free. Likely enough for a 5 gallon batch w/ two, or could heat a large cooler HLT w/ a little patience to save some propane???

that is a nice cheap option especially for a hot liquor or speeding up a stove /120v kettle to boil. only thing that might be weird about boiling with them is they are so short that you might not get good turning of the liquid from the bottom of the kettle. which would seriously reduce the effectiveness of your boil at removing DMS etc.
