I was thinking of using a 10 gallon (or 5 gallon) industrial beverage igloo for my brewing vessel.

I know some people just use a bucket etc, I was thinking the insulation would be good for temperature regulation. I only ask because I have a 10 gallon and a 5 gallon igloo cooler on hand... I know I would probably need a bubbler or a carboy or something, unless I really dont. I am handy with tools, ive done pipe fitting (to an extent) before.

I started with a Mr. Beer kit (like a week ago) and I really want to start another brew but I only have the 2 gallon dealy they gave me that I know I can brew in.

I would save the coolers to make a MLT/HLT out of once you get the hang of it. Even though the coolers are insulated, eventually the beer's temp inside will drop. That being said, the insulation will work against you when you try to "warm" it back up.

I have a 5 and a 10 gallon cooler that I use for mashing/sparging. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend them for any other brewing use.

In a VERY short amount of time you will want to make something like this

to start doing all grain (AG) brewing. Until then I suggest you read up on the beginning brewing threads on this site, buy a good basic brewing book (like John Palmer's How to Brew...there is also an older online version available http://http://www.howtobrew.com/sitemap.html), and get a basic homebrewing kit with a 6 gal fermenting bucket, bottling bucket, autosiphon, bottle capper, and most importantly, a hydrometer. You will find that this hobby grows...and grows...and GROWS :D

Welcome to your new obsession :mug:
