I started doing 1 gallon batches due to space restraints. I brewed an American Ale about a week ago and it appears the fermentation has stopped as of a few days ago. It fermented really aggressively for a couple days and tapered off. Do one gallon batches typically take less time to ferment than 5 gallon batches? I racked to a secondary but think I might just bottle at this point. I brewed in a hurry and forgot to take the OG reading.

Same as for larger batches you need to take gravity readings a few days apart to see if fermenting has finished, and that you're about where you should be. Fermenting might take 4 days or two weeks or more even (depends on yeast, temp, pitching rate, aeration, wort OG and composition, phase of the moon and what you had for breakfast the day before you brewed) so you can't rely on experience of others or even your own previous batches.

The OG doesn't really matter to determine if it has stopped. As long as you are sure you are at FG then bottle.
