I’m trying to pull off a brew for a contest. They gave 1# alder smoked malt. Not enough time to lager. The categories are 32a and 32b. I don’t make my own recipes. I’d like a mild smoked flavor. Any help with a recipe will be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

First thing comes to mind is Alaskan Smoked Porter. Terrific beer and it is made with alder smoked malt. I've made this recipe before and while is it not an exact clone, it makes a very tasty and smooth drinking porter. Would be even better with the proper smoked malt. Recommend using WY1028 if you plan to do this. Good luck.

I was thinking of a porter. I’m drinking a chile ale right now. Maybe a couple oz. of dried chilies in there?
Thanks
