1/2" ID vs 1/2" barb

Has anyone had a problem where they ordered what is supposed to be 1/2" ID silicone hose, and it's really more like .54" ID.
And the 1/2" barbs on the 1 1/2" TC fittings are .45"

Do I return the hose or the TC fittings? do I order 3/8" hose, and hope that it is similarly oversized?

Any advice?

I use hose clamps on all tubing connections, like these...

Always oversize the barb. I sell .5 ID silicone and stock tc barbs amd others in 5/8". Its a better fit and higher flow.

So if I want hose to use the fittings that I have, I should get 3/8" ID silicone hose?

That depends on how much flow you need.

Hey Bobby, I use 1/2 inch silicone tubing over 3/4 inch hose barbs (tri clover) on all of my connections and it works great. When I built my rig I used worm clamps but I want to upgrade and use Oetiker clamps and switch out the worm clamps. Just wondering what size Oetiker clamps I would need. If you can let me know the correct size I will place and order.
