    Dry hopping

Good day everyone. I recently racked my IPA on top of some Centennial hop pellets into my secondary, but I've noticed that all the hops now float on top of the beer. Is that a problem?

    Head retention and lacing

I just brewed up my first all grain batch a couple days ago, so I'll have to wait a while to see how it compares to extract.

    Head retention and lacing

Will adding the extra grains/malt effect the flavor? Obviously, hops would.

    Head retention and lacing

Well I don't use jetdry in my dishwasher. When I brew all grain, should I add something into my mash or will mashing itself using the specified grains listed in the recipe produce the same effect?

    Head retention and lacing

Thanks guys! My glasses are clean (least I think so), but before I pour beer into them I always give them a quick rinse with tap water. All of my brews to date have been extract (just finished my first all grain a few days ago) and the only two that had excellent lacing and head retention were...

    Head retention and lacing

How does one go about increasing both or what causes both to form? Thanks

Slow rolling or fast vigorous boil?

Which method is better and why? My thoughts would be a fast vigorous boil to help extract flavor from the hops and allow the molecules to collide more often....or I could be thinking too much. Thanks!

    Blow off still bubbling

So would a two week primary, one week secondary and then about three weeks in the bottles be good? I figured it would be totally clear, but I'm mainly after good color and taste.

    Blow off still bubbling

Thanks guys! The original recipe I posted said to do one week primary then two weeks secondary. Should I follow that? I normally keep my beers in the primary for a full three 3 weeks, but these pumpkin beers have LOADS of sediment in them. Any recommendations?

    Blow off still bubbling

Good day everyone. I brewed https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f76/thunderstruck-pumpkin-ale-ag-extract-versions-26699/ on Monday and pitched the yeast at about noon. The blow off tube water was bubbling nicely by Tuesday (temp. was about 70-72), but today I'm still seeing some bubbles come out. I...

    Late addition and boil over

Good day everyone. I've been using the late addition method, but have problems with continuous boil overs after I add the last malt extract. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Thanks, Cris P.

I don't think my beer is carbing right

This past Saturday I popped open one of my boddington pub clones after being in the fridge for about 24 hours. I poured it into a red solo cup and low and behold, there was good head and lacing. SOOOO, last night I popped open another BP clone (48 hours in the fridge) using a tall clean...

Put this post in the ingredients forum. The sub-forum for wheats seems to be meant for recipes only. Thanks!

    Help designing a Paulaner Hefe.

Good day everyone. I found two different receipes on here for a Paulaner Hefe. clone which look pretty decent, but I wanted to maybe put my own twist on it a bit. First one: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f70/paulaner-style-hefe-weizen-32811/ and second one...

I don't think my beer is carbing right

I pithced around 68-70 using "ale yeast" according to the instruction sheet. I let it ferment for about 3 weeks then bottled it up.

    Scotch Ale tastes...sour?

I lost the recipe sheet, but it was from my LHBS. I'll wait it out longer and see how they turn out. It does have a sort of green apple taste to it.

I don't think my beer is carbing right

Thanks for the help everyone. When I pour my beer, I pour down the side of the glass nice and smooth so it doesn't foam up too bad. I purchased my ingredients from my LHBS (The weekend brewer) About the temperature thing, there is a story behind it. When I first bottled these things, the...

I don't think my beer is carbing right

Good day everyone. My last two batches (scotch ale and boddingtons pub clone) haven't seem to carb correctly even after sitting in a 70 degree box for about 2 weeks, and then mid 60's for another two weeks. It tastes carbed, but I have zero head, no lacing, and no bubbles flying up. I used...
