    Blue Moon Clone

So what has become the general consensus on the coriander and orange peel? I brewed nilo's #4, but the orange flavor seems way to strong. Boiled at 10 min: 0.375oz - Coriander 2.0oz - Sweet orange peel 1.0oz - Bitter orange peel I'm thinking about taking it down a bit, possibly...

    Porter/Stout Force Carb

So I've had my first porter under about 8 psi at 38 degrees for about three weeks now, but when served I have little to virtually no head. Obviously I can't crank it to 11 (standard ale range) psi cuz then it's out of carb style. Do you guys crank up the serving pressure on your stouts or...

    My Keezer Build

Well i didn't "attack" them at all. That wouldn't be nice. They are just pieces of wood. Never did anything to me. Haha. That being said, I "attached" them with standard wood screws. Build the inner collar first, outter collar second, slid the one over the other and screwed them together...

First All Grain Batch Process Critique

I just completed my first all-grain batch last night. I got a cooler kit and then just pretty much winged it going off the things I've read. Seems like the easiest way to understand the process is to just do it. Below is the step-by-step process that I took. I am now looking for additional...

    My Keezer Build

Yeah the full kegs can be a little PITA to put in, but not terrible by any means. Just think of it as a little extra workout. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    My Keezer Build

The back actually uses a shorter piece of 1x12 between the hinges so the hinges still attach to the 1x10, the shorter piece of 1x12 still hangs down, and the lid fits perfectly. I'll snap a pic tonight. It will be easier to understand if you see it. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    My Keezer Build

Also, definitely let me know if you have any specific questions on the build I can help with. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    My Keezer Build

They are ball lock. You could maybe fit 5 using the hump. It would be pushing it though, and you definitely wouldn't have space for the co2 tank inside. Four fits nicely with the co2 tank and still gives enough wiggle room with all the tubing. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Recirculating Immersion Wort Chiller

Here is what I ended up doing. Got a pond pump from my local pet shop and the properly threaded adapter from Ace Hardware. Couldn't have worked out any better. Works like a charm! Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Recirculating Immersion Wort Chiller

Anyone have suggestions on a specific pump as well as the needed adapters to connect to a garden hose? Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Recirculating Immersion Wort Chiller

I'd like to make an recirculating immersion wort chiller using a pond pump. This would help me avoid turning my driveway into a skating rink during the winter months as well as save water. Right now my immersion wort chiller has garden hose fittings on both ends, so ideally I'd be able to run...

    My Keezer Build

Thought about caulking the wood to the freezer, but it's already a nice, snug fit and sits perfectly flush. I doubt it would make much of a difference. Additionally, I didn't want to damage the freezer in any way. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    My Keezer Build

Definitely easier and it's a huge plus that it doesn't damage the freezer in any way. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    My Keezer Build

The 10 inch collar sits flush around all sides, then the 12 inch hangs down two additional inches. This secures the collar on the freezer without needing any additional materials or methods of locking it in place. It also allowed me to drill the drip trays into the wood as opposed to the...

    My Keezer Build

Thought I would share my keezer build with everyone. It's a 7 cu ft freezer from Lowes. 1x10 inside colar, 1x12 outside colar, and insulated with foam board. Fits four cornies and a 5# co2 tank perfectly. Overall I'm super happy with the end result. Definitely one of the more rewarding weekend...

First kegging. Head but no carbonation?

I keg it, set it to 12 PSI, purge, and forget about it. About 10 days later it's ready to go. Bout as simple as it gets. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Looking to Start All-Grain Brewing

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll be going with a cooler for both the HLT and MLT to start. Seems like the simplest and cheapest way to start. Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Equipment for All-Grain

What kind of time would I be looks at for a DIY recirculating system? Weekend project? Also, am I correct in saying that a "recirculating system" refers to a RIMS or HERMS setup?

    Equipment for All-Grain

Posted this over in the newbie section as well, but thought it could be applicable here as well. Up to this point I've been doing full boil, extract batches using my 10 gallon Blichmann kettle and Blichmann burner. I've got my sanitation and fermentation processes locked down and my results...

    Looking to Start All-Grain Brewing

Hey folks. First off I just wanna say thanks to everyone that posts on this forum. This is my first official post but I've been reading for months. What a great resource! Up to this point I've been doing full boil, extract batches using my 10 gallon Blichmann kettle and Blichmann burner...
