    Better bottles volume

I'm pretty sure I have seen a post on this forum showing a better bottle and corresponding volume based on the indentations in the side. I can't find it now. Did I dream it? BTW I tried a search and can't search for better, only bottle. Do you know how many pages there are for a search...

    Virginia Beer Festival

Did anyone go and if so how was it? I went and enjoyed it. The first time I've been. Next year I will skip lunch so I have more room for the beer.

    Promas Problems

Still trying to get the hang of Pro Mash. AG, batchsparge is my routine. I am brewing a batch today --2.5 gal. In the brew sesion PM gives me a total mash volume of 3.1gal. I believe this includes mash water and grain volume for a total vol. of 3.1 gal with 5lbs grain and 1.26 qts/lbs. To...

I'm not sure this is the correct forum. However with all the talk about EF I really wanted to try this beer. Have never tried the "other", but I digress. The swmbo and I were in the OBX this weekend and went by Chip's Wine and Beer Market at mile post 6 shopping center. I did not see any...

Honing your recipes by limiting your brews

I too think this would be fun to do. Start with some american two row and a pound of L40 crystal and 05 dry yeast. Maybe 3 gallon batches and bottle so you could do multiple taste tests. Then vary the hops, yeast. Then move to different specialty grains through pale, amber, brown, porter and...

I keep bees in my back yard, and have two hive from which I harvested 7 gallons of honey from his year. I would suggest Bee Keeping for Dummies by Howland Blackiston.

    Bee Keeping

I just harvested 5 gallons of honey from my two hives. Going to make meade and use it in cooking. Bees are great for your garden too. I only get stung once or twice a year.

    Awful Wit

I use starsan as the sanitizer. It has been warm here in the south and at this time of the year the waterworks may add more chloramines.
