    Vegemite in beer?

I like Vegemite and Marmite, but I would never consider putting it in my beer.

    Sick of Apfelwein

I had the last of my Apfelwein that was almost 2 years old a few weeks ago. It tasted extra yeasty for some reason...I think I prefer it before it gets to the 1 year mark.

    Sick of Apfelwein

Awesome, thanks for the tip. That stuff sounds good. Any idea what kind of alcohol percentage I'll end up with?

    Sick of Apfelwein

I made a couple of batches and enjoyed them for the most part, but now I'm kind of over the taste of it. Plus it's hangover juice because of all the added sugar. Does anyone have any alternate recipes they could suggest?

    NJ Beer Mecca...

Buy Rite just opened a location in Jersey City, where I work. The beer selection is amazing...almost a quarter of the massive store is filled with microbrews. There was one beer I discovered they didn't have though - Coney Island beer.

Does this make a difference to the hot break, or is that not a concern with extract brewing?

    Good Piece On Extract Brewing...

I think it depends on the extract. Personally, I steer clear of canned extracts. I don't like the "canned" taste they impart. The AHS liquid extract is great, and DME is good too.

    Christmas Ale help

Hi all, I'm doing a Christmas Ale brew, and I'm not sure of the order/quantities I should add some of my ingredients in. I have: 3 oz NorthDown hops 1 oz Kent Golding hops jar of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger) bakers cocoa I also have some cinnamon sticks if...

What's your least favorite micro brewery?

I'd also like to add that I haven't been very impressed with Long Trail's offerings either. Maybe I'm just too much of a hop head, but their beers just seem really bland to me.

Haven't been to the Ginger Man yet. I'll be going in a couple of weeks though. Their selection looks top-notch.

What's your least favorite micro brewery?

Agree with all that, except I can't speak for Bethlehem Brew Works - never tried 'em. I just recently got to try (on a trip to NC) Highland's Gaelic Ale and Oatmeal Porter - good quality stuff. I loved Smuttynose Portsmouth Lager, but they don't seem to make it any more.

They can be hit and miss. Their Oatmeal Stout is usually good though.

What's your least favorite micro brewery?

True, I guess they don't "suck" - their food was good. None of the brews grabbed me though.

What's your least favorite micro brewery?

I don't think I've ever had a Sam Adams beer I didn't like. Even the ones that are so-so seems to be of good quality. Each to his own I guess.

What's your least favorite micro brewery?

My experience has been the opposite. I've liked everything I've had from Troegs - especially the Nugget Nectar. Only had it in bottles though...maybe it's different at the pub.
