So I dry fired a brewhardware element today...

I accidentally plugged in the wrong element and walked away for a few minutes. I came back to find this: It was glowing like a stove top. It had been burning for several minuites. I turned it off (of course) and let it cool back down. It later worked fine for the boil. I'm impressed. I...

Accidental warm start, should I dump it?

That is a great idea. I do have plenty of carboys. Should the yeast remain healthy despite the initial warm temps? I do try to make starters for bigger beers. My biggest problem with starters is getting everything ahead of time... I dont really have any excuses. I have canned starter...

Accidental warm start, should I dump it?

So I brewed a kolsch yesterday. I pitched my yeast at about 11pm. I am using wyeast 1007 german ale. I realize its not the best kolsch yeast, but its all that was in stock at the LBS. I ferment in a heated and cooled temperature controlled mini fridge. I accidentally left the temp probe...

Its finally here!! (Yes, yet another build thread...)

Yeah, i have never needed to travel with my brew panel, but its nice being able to close it up and put it out of the way some where for cleaning up, moving things around, etc.

Its finally here!! (Yes, yet another build thread...)

You can see how it is mounted in the pictures on the first page. I used a piece of plastic i had laying around and tapped some holes and used screws to sandwich the breaker in place, screws being tightened from the front of the panel. The breaker is a commercial bolt on type, not the...

    Element position in kettle

You already have the silver solder supplies, right? That would be the best solution to try and plug any holes i would think, assuming you know where the trouble spot is.

    Economy Kettle

I don't know how large you want to go, but if you have the resources to convert them, keggles can be had for cheap if you are are patient.

Its finally here!! (Yes, yet another build thread...)

I added Bobby's solder TC element fittings and all stainless elements. So far I am really pleased.

I also got a stainless chugger pump head. It pumps noticeably faster than the plastic March head I had. The inlet port is a larger bore and the fins on the impeller are larger than those of the March.

Its finally here!! (Yes, yet another build thread...)

I made some upgrades. I finally added a HLT. I brewed my first batch last weekend. My efficiency was extremely low. I think perhaps i sparged to quickly. I still have a few things to work out i suppose. Hopefully I will be adding a rims tube and keggle MLT soon...

Need some help troubleshooting my 50A GFI breaker...

A gfci protection circuit trips when it sees a difference in current between the hot leg(s) and neutral. If all is well, all the current flowing through the hot leg(s) will also be flowing through the neutral. If there is less current on neutral than hot, then some current is going some...

Need some help troubleshooting my 50A GFI breaker...

You need to be looking for a short or low resistance between ground and neutral.

Need some help troubleshooting my 50A GFI breaker...

if neutral and ground are bonded anywhere down stream of your GFCI this will cause it to trip. A GFCI essentially trips when there is a difference in current between the hot legs and neutral. Also, using a 100A breaker to test functionality is fine. If a circuit was a dead short, it...

Just got two of these installed. Great product. Also, the instructional video on your (bobby's) site was super helpful. Thanks for the great products.
