    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

I just brewed the extract recipe today on my stove top. I live in Vegas so its way to hot out to consider brewing out doors right now. My question is I started with a 2.5 gallon boil but lost about a good .5 gallon due to evaporation so the end result was a delicious smelling green wort! Even...

    Broke thermometer in wort boil

good to know because there was a crap load of em. I ended up leaving about a cup and a 1/2 of wort and sediment at the bottom of the kettle. there was a few pieces of glass and a lot of those little balls. im pretty confident after the secondary and the bottling bucket it will be ok.

    Broke thermometer in wort boil

It is a red one. its actually less than a 1/4 inch. more like a 1/8 or less. I gently skimmed the bottom but could find no glass only small bits of the little black balls. charcoal maybe? Im guessing if I whirlpool the crap out of it and rack to secondary and rack to bottling bucket at the...

Is all dogfish head beer expensive?

dogfish head has some good beers. there IPA line is especially good. however i find they have just as many bad beers that are overrated and not worth the price tag. Raison and ImmortALE come to mind. they are worth trying once in a while but for IPAs my money is going to good ol Stone ruination...
