    Caring and dispensing a Sanke

I have a 15.5 gallon coors Sanke and I want to use it as my keg. I know I can carb it up with a Sanke coupler and distribute it with a co2 tank, but I was wondering, can I force carb it then detach the coupler and use a standard hand pump dispenser as if I got the keg from the store?

Does anyone have any info on what type of 55 gallon drums are acceptable to use as a kettle or mash tun? Some are painted inside etc.. We have a lot of barrels at my work and food grade oil comes in them but I want to make sure they are safe for use. Is there a cleaning process etc.... Also...

    Siphon difficulty

Problem is I have a giant aluminum 20 gallon pot. I asked some people who weld and they said they had no idea how to weld ss to aluminum. That's why I don't have one. I didn't suck hot wort lol. I tried it inside with water. I've primed it still won't work a little comes out then it...

    Siphon difficulty

So, I have a counter flow chiller (homemade). I have never had a problem using it, but I was being stupid and lazy and using a plastic racking cane to transfer the hot wort through the counter flow and into my carboys. My racking cane obviously would get too hot and warp and bend lol. So I...

    Need advise. First Brew

If fermentation took off you were ok, I pitch vials in a pinch and have never had a problem. A big beer like that will take time to finish out and high alcohol content should not be a problem since u pitched two vials. Most big beers stall when not enough yeast is used. Wait another week and...

Adding Banana Liqueur to the Secondary?

It won't be exactly the same but very close. Or u can add to your glass after opening the bottle. I would add to a secondary and let it mesh for a week then bottle.

    Short Fermentation

Don't worry about it, air lock is not sign of fermentation. Just leave it alone. I don't even check anymore, just wait a few weeks and bottle. Most light beers I ferment 10 days check gravity to be sure and bottle for 10 days. Rdwhahb.

I screwed up my starter..I think.

No u are just making a starter not a full blown beer. All u need is some water and dme to make a mini batch of beer. The important thing is that there are sugars for the yeast to attack. Water plus dme will do that and you don't have to worry about boil off just pitch your Yeats, it's all good.

Attention Ohio growers - is it rhizome planting time? :)

I planted mine here in Michigan. The home brew guys said they can handle a light frost from their experience. Got mine from fresh hops too. Already starting to pop up. We had 30 degrees last night everything still going good. March and April are the right times to plant. I would put them...

    How flavor your beer

Just made a dragons milk clone. Called to soak oak chips in bourbon and put it into a secondary for one week. Be careful with wood chips. 1 oz is enough for 5 gallons if you want more add it after tasting. If you add to much u will have to age for a long time to get the wood tones to mellow out.

adding orange zest and juice to secondary

no need to shake. The rasberries always float and with just the berries you will get a lot of flavor. The yeast will attack them and they will turn a whitish green. looking good.

dual or triple kegs with one co2 tank?

So i have a 5lb co2 tank and i got some more kegs. Questions : 1. Can I hook up more than one keg at a time to the 5lb tank? I assume yes. 2. Where can I buy an adapter to do so? Can I just find a screw in piece to attached to the regulator? or is there a simpler way?
