    Question on fly sparging

When I'm fly sparging and I know I'm getting close to pre boil volume I stop adding water and just let mash tun finish draining. If I don't have enough pre boil volume I just sparge a little more water till I get my desired volume. Is this the correct way to do this or should I keep my...

    Stuck fermentation?

Scottish 60/- from NB I forgot to get the O.G. reading. Sat in carboy for 2 weeks. Checked gravity reading yesterday and it was at 1.014. It is an extract kit, so I think the O.G. should of been close to what it was supposed to be. "1.031" I going to wait a few days and check it...

Thinking about kegging, couple of questions.

#1 Ball lock or pin lock? The ball lock is more expensive, is it any better than the pin lock? #2 Thinking about getting a 2 or 3 tap fridge kegerator conversion kit from Keg connection. Do I need anything else when I order the kit? I want to be able to force carb and dispense beer at the...

Newb question regarding swamp cooler temps

I am fermenting my second batch. It's a two hearted extract clone. My ambient temp. is 70 degrees and my beer fermentation temp was 76-78 degrees. Way to warm, so I moved it into a swamp cooler. About 15 hours later the water temp of the swamp cooler is around 56-57 degrees! Holy $%*...

Need some help before I start my Oktoberfest

I have a few questions concerning my instructions that came with my kit. It is a True Brew Oktoberfest kit. The instructions seem to be pretty cheesy. They tell me to boil 1.5 gallons of water then turn off the heat. Put the grains in the bag and steep for 20-30 minutes. It doesn't say...
