    Changes to my water

I just moved to Texas and I'd like to get my water chemistry right the first time around. This is the first time I'm using Bru'n Water (which is awesome!) and I'd really like someone to check my math. As a side note, I'd like to avoid using RO water and stick to my tap water since I don't have...

    Beer tasters wanted (New Zealand)

I found this article in the newspaper about a new brewery by the name of Boundary Road Brewery wanting to give 999 people 3 beers that they want people to taste and vote which one is best. Seems interesting. Anyone else doing it? www.thechosenone.co.nz

I forgot how easy this is!

Ive been brewing all grain for about a year now and before that I did a few extract batches. I just moved into a new apartment and decided to do an extract brew for fun and man is that nice! Barely anything to clean, setup, or take down. Im going to be doing a lot more of these from now on.

    Carbonating 750ml bottles

I searched 'how much priming sugar for 750 ml bottles' and found multiple answers ranging from 1 tsp to 2 tsp. That seems like a big difference and I really dont want some huge bottle bombs. Anyone know what the correct amount is? (Ill be adding the sugar directly into the bottles)

Can any bar serve cask ale?

Ive recently been exploring the idea of a brewery that specializes in cask conditioned ales. But I was also wondering if it is possible for any bar with a regular tap setup to convert to a cask ale setup just on a couple of taps. Does anyone know this?

    OMG that is GOOD

Just started working at a brewpub in Auckland. We were filling the casks yesterday with an english bitter and the brewmaster filled up my glass a couple times straight out of the fermenter... still had the yeast suspended in it and everything. Wow that was delicious... I love this job

    Ugh... bad equipment

Just did my first brew in NZ (10th overall) and it looks like I got some bad equipment. The airlock doesnt seal completely with the fermentation bucket. They gave me a grommet that acts as the rubber seal and im thinking thats the issue. I got some pvc duct tape and tried sealing around it but...

Replacement hops for American Amber Ale

I ordered an American Amber Ale all grain kit from northern brewer and was wondering if there were any suggestions for different hops I could use with the recipe. It calls for 2 oz of Cascade for 60 min, then 1 oz for 15 min. I would like to try a little more variety. I am planning on buying the...

Brew to Bottle in 1 week... Bad decision?

I did my first AG brew last sunday (7/18) and pitched with an OG of 1045 (right on). Then, after 4 days fermenation was done. I tested the FG and it was 1006 (Beersmith calculated it as 1010. Little low). I knew fermentation was done so I transferred it to secondary on 7/22 to clear up. After 2...
