    Caramel 10L 100%

I have just recieved a free bag of Briess caramel 10L and due to being flat broke I thought I would try making my 'goto' recipe that uses 100% 2 row with 100% Caramel instead. Any thoughts?

    I Need Pics Please

As I had stated before, I do my own research and just wanted to cover all bases in case someone had something better than what I had found. I tend to use my "thick skin" as I lobby to protect my (and your, if you live in the US) rights from the government trying to take them away. I come to...

    I Need Pics Please

Thanks to those who took my request seriously. To those that do not understand the question, maybe you have a cartoon showing a caveman that is eating porridge with a caption of "This porridge makes me feel happy" Something to that effect. Smartass answers turn a lot of people away from...

    I Need Pics Please

That's awesome if I had asked for a smartass answer. I think most people DO google and other research, but feel they may have missed something if they don't ask others. Don't assume that others are stupid maxam

    I have a bitter thumb

I cant seem to avoid making beers that are bitter. Now I like bitter so I'm not complaining but every beer has been more bitter than expected. The last beer I brewed was an all grain honey ale. I even cut the hop bill in half and it ended up tasting like a light version of my Rye ale fully...

    Hydrometer

Is there any reason not to leave my pre-sanitized hydrometer in my fermentor (carboy)? It seams more convenient not to mention less opening therefore less contamination. Thanks for replies.

    Analyze recipe please

This is my first time coming up with a recipe. I admit I pulled it out of the air, but I used "beer recipator" to help with the details. It is trying to be a rye with an undertone of roast flavor. What do you think? Any comments? Too much something? not enough something? Grain 7 lb...

    Boiling grains

I honestly don't remember what he put in there. He just said things like "do you want a dry or sweet stout?" dry "ok, you need (this)". The bag ended up about as big as a cantaloupe mellon and there was 3 different grains. Sorry I dont have more info.

    Boiling grains

Nobody actually told me to boil grains, it was a case of reading so much information that it all blended together in one huge brain-fart.

    Boiling grains

Before everyone cringes, I know NOW, that I should never have grains in boiling water due to the release of tannons. Before I learned that lesson, I was doing a partial mash and when the water hit boil I added my Stout extract and "tea-bag" of grains, and added my hops at 60", 30", 5". Pull...
