    Foam after kegging

If you have pressure in the vessel and are not getting a steady flow of liquid from the tap you have the down tubes under the wrong connections. The long one which goes to the bottom needs to be under the liquid connection and the short one under your gas fitting. The pressure in the vessel...

    Foam after kegging

If it's just gas and spurting emitting then you are trying to pull liquid from the short tube(gas in side). Did you reference a chart for your settings. Seems high to me for that temp.

    HBT on Iphone

It had the plus sign on the download icon so it may just be for the latest apple devices. I'm using it now and all seems well. New phones should be out in June. Time to upgrade.

Adding Fresh Mint to the Secondary

Sorry it's been so long. The recipe I have calls for 5 oz fresh but does not say how to put it in the secondary. Think I may do the tincture and add slowly as I taste in the secondary. What do you think?

Adding Fresh Mint to the Secondary

Once again I'm on the quest of knowledge. I am brewing a Chocolate Mint Stout, which is currently in the Primary absent the mint. I am putting the mint on it after it transfers to the secondary, but am concerned about sterilization. Currently the mint in in the freezer. Is it ok to...

    Keeping the boil

Finally got the build back from the welder. He did an awesome job and only charged $100 for the service. This is the #1 micro welder in the area so $100 is very cheap. Here are the pictures. I still have a ways to go but budget constraints are putting the project on hold for the immediate...

White Crust on a Cherry Lambic

I have a cherry lambic in the secondary which now has formed a white crust on top of the beer. Is this normal for this style since two wild yeast strains are used? There are no pretty colors and I have not tasted or smelled it yet. Thank you for any information. Ron

    Keeping the boil

I'll do that. They will bend as well but too much and they do break. Found that out a couple of days ago. I'll put some pics up soon. Ron

    Keeping the boil

Very well. Thanks gents...I'm going with two ports on the keg for elements and will get a big enough GFI to power two 220 elements. Going to the welder Mon morning. I've been collecting the hardware for years and am very excited to see the project moving forward. Ron

    Keeping the boil

Thanks. I did finally find that on here. I'm doing an extract e-kettle for 5 and 10 gallon batches based on a 15.5 gallon keg. I'm using 1.5" Tri-Clamp fittings throughout the rig for sanitation and future modifications. I've looked over your build in the past days and am impressed. I'm...

    Keeping the boil

Will a 2000wt ULD element keep 5 and 10 gallon batches at a boil?
  16. N

    Electric Heating Element

I'm using a 5500wt extra low density element and the very end of the element, which is bent back over itself, is too long and still inside the fitting being used. The problem is that the element is touching the side of the SS fitting, which will most likely cause too much heat transfer into the...
