    Anyone use Bentonite or Chillkleer?

I am in the process of fermenting our first Cider, and hoping to clear it as much as possible. Times a bit of an issue as hoping to have it ready ASAP, but happy to have it as clear as it's going to be in the timeframe. I plan to crash cool it down to .5*C as soon as it reached the SG iI'm...

    Electric valve advice

I did see those, but I'm looking just on the water side. Literally using one pump to recirc my HLT, and then change the direction of flow to my mash tun to sparge. Also I'm just being lazy, as a manual ball valve will be easy and simple but. If i'm spending al this time making a control panel...

    Electric valve advice

I'm planning my new build and control panel build, And I Plan to use one pump to re-circ my HLT with the same pump as pumping to my MT. Rather than turn a ball valve to send the flow from going back to the HLT, but to the MT, is there a solenoid or similar valve I can get so I can do it form...

Best way to remove very unhappy mold

Thanks, I'll give it a go. The copper manifold I use as a hop filter may have to go. Its completely full of, well, slime. Ill boil it up and soak it too and hope for the best.

Best way to remove very unhappy mold

I have a stainless boiler which unfortunately got completely forgotten about after the last brewday. It sat for over a month with the dregs of wort and hops in the bottom. Well when I came to just check it, the fact I had left it out for cleaning later that day and forgotten it never crossed...

    Show us your panel

In the process of building mine at home, but this is the one we built for the brewery at work. Two PID's for HLT and BK temp, Controls for the pumps, and then temperature controls for the 4 fermentors.

Wood-Aged Beer StoneHedge, Oak Aged IPA (5-Gallon AG)

I have a 4.5 Gallon oak barrel arriving soon. Full of beer. My plan is to use it to oak age my own once I've drunk whats in it. I've not used oak or chips before, and see some posts that leaving it too long on chips overpowers it. Do you think I may have this problem with barrel ageing? I...

Is there a rough grain volume ratio?

Yea Im looking to buy a bunch of containers, very similar to those! Just trying to figure out what the best size would be!

Is there a rough grain volume ratio?

If that makes sense. I'm looking to order some storage containers, to store uncrushed grain in. I haven't used un-crushed before, but just got a mill so not sure in the volume difference between crushed/uncrushed. Is there a rough ratio for weight to volume? To work out say how many Litre 5kg...

Belgian Dubbel Belgian dubbel, 1st place DMC comp, 42/50 points

Love the sound of this, but like a slightly maltier beer. Think I will try it this weekend with Lager malt as I have that to hand, and the added munich as I also have a bunch of that. WHat temps did you ferment at with that yeast?

Looking for a summer recipe or two

I may be getting hopeful, but the sun may come out soon, and I would like to have some beer ready for it! I'm looking for one recipe to bottle, to take out when it's nice, and another to keg in a corny for when I have the annual BBQ at mine. Now I'd like to try a nice paleish ale, which is...

Still alive - just tackling a HUGE DIY

I have to say the curved 2" pieces that dowel together, I have never seen over here. And neither had my dad who's been as chippy all his life. That would of made some of the jobs I've been on so, so much easier for curved walls! Genius!
