    Sickness From Your Beer?

Case Closed, it is definitely the beer. I had one last night and got the exact same reaction. Puked up all my stomach. I drink hoppy beers and belgium all the time. Something is not right with this one. It has had plenty of time to settle, about 5 weeks, but is still super cloudy. Gonna...

    Sickness From Your Beer?

That is what I am hoping. I figured with the high IBU's and high ABV it should be good.

    Sickness From Your Beer?

So the other night I had two of my newest batch. A couple hours later I threw up. I felt bad, but woke up the next morning and had breakfast and felt normal. No other symptoms with this, just vomit. The beer in question had a questionable fermentation and clarity. The fermentation did not...

    High Gravity After 1 Week

It has been 1 week since pitching. The only thing I did differently with this batch was I lost patience when cooling the wort and let stopped at 100 F, then pitched the yeast 6 hours later at about 90 F. However I pitched more yeast 24 hours later after it appeared to not have taken.

    High Gravity After 1 Week

My last batch never really took off in it's fermentation like they usually do. I had to add more yeast the next day after initial pitching. Now I have checked the gravity and it is 1.025. By this point I should be a 1.012 or lower. Is there any hope of saving this batch? Should I add more...

Thanks guys, that helps alleviate any fears I had about doing it this way. The cleaning the bottles really is a pain in the butt.

    Bottle Cleaning - Need Advice

I am thinking about trying a cleaning shortcut. I am sick of scrubbing bottles. So here is what I am gonna try. Advice please: All my bottles are 22's that I rinse with hot water immediately after pouring the beer out. I then store them covered. Looking in them there appears to be no...

First All Grain Batch, Found a Good Aeration Method

First AG brew, I have done about 6 extracts. I just did a lot of reading, "How To Brew", and this forum along with good planning.

    OxiClean & Cleaning Bottles/Equipment

I use about half a scoop in a full sink. Soak scrub and rinse twice with hot water, no problems.

    Megapot rattling in the bottom?

Thanks, I really didn't want to have to deal with shipping this thing.

First All Grain Batch, Found a Good Aeration Method

Thought I would share this since it worked quite well. I used a 15 gallon mash/lauter tun. I have a small place and used it on my gas stove, it covers two burners. Started with about 11 gallons of water. When done mashing and sparging I drained the wort via a hose from the pot to two...

    Megapot rattling in the bottom?

I just got a 15g Masht Tun from www.homebrewstuff.com , it didn't say Megapot, but the specs are the same as is the price so I assume it is. Anyhow, I just did my first all grain batch. I am happy to say it all went as planned and looks to be doing well. The problem is that when I was...

    IPA's getting FG down

Touche, I bottled last night. In a week I will have a couple and see how I feel. Then I will know if the alcohol level got to IPA level. Next time it is cane sugar.

    IPA's getting FG down

I think the temps are pretty close +- 5 degrees. Using the same hydrometer, so shouldn't matter. I like the sugar idea. I might try that next time.

    IPA's getting FG down

Yes, they are extract. I think I will bottle tomorrow, day 17. Working towards the AG setup.

    IPA's getting FG down

I am on my fourth IPA. They all have turned out well, but I can't seem to get the Final Gravity below 1.020. My first three were in the fermenters for 3 weeks, and they all seemed to finish at 1.020. This last one, I used my new SS conical fermenter, it has been in there for 16 days, and for...

    Conical Fermenter

No it just sits in a little tripod stand. You can pick up the fermenter for cleaning.

    Conical Fermenter

The fermenter itself is nice, the stand it sits on is not though.
