    Easy Yeast Washing

How long have you been able to keep the washed samples? How long before you've noticed off-flavors or significant deviation from the original specimen? Washing always seemed like a great option for someone who's brewing every couple weeks. Personally, I only brew about once every couple months...

Wine barrel fermentation - to rinse or not to rinse?

I'm getting a freshly used wine 15-gallon barrel soon, from a friend who is bottling his wine. I've been planning to rack over a wit beer for secondary fermentation directly into the barrel. I want to capture a healthy amount of the wine flavors in the beer (think DFH Red+White). I had...

    Inoculating a barrel

So, is there agreement as to whether inoculating is even necessary? A friend is giving me a freshly-emptied wine barrel in a few weeks. I'm planning to fill it completely with a wit beer for a long secondary fermentation. Seems to me like washing it out or scraping it would defeat the purpose...

    12 gallon stainless conical $897.00

It's worth whatever price the market will bear. Have you seen the prices on Monster Cables? There's no reason to pay $1000 / foot for speaker wire, but if some idiot is willing to shell out boocoo bucks, then it would be foolish not to sell it at that price. apropos: "a sucker is born every minute"
