Just opened my Stargazer IPA and noticed it came with Nottingham ale yeast. This is a PAC NW IPA. Anyone have a theory as to why they would send Nottingham?

Question: What does a 'used' PicoPak look like or how much integrity is left in the packaging after a cycle? If you lightly rinsed and didn't care about cross-contanimation..could you reuse it with your own ingredients (even once while still moist)? If one were to guess...which brewing...

Yeah but I have to order WYest which with shipping in the summer is almost as much as another Pico Pak. Looking for a close fit from White labs. That's what my local store carries

My local shop only carries white labs The Cali strain is always solid I guess

I don't know man. I would gladly part with some of my all grain equipment at this point. It's taking up a whole room almost!! I have a Pico and love it. After tweaking the process I have been able to produce some stellar beers. My only problem is there isn't enough. I've been AG brewing for...

I think this one will have some tough sledding. The batch size is the same as Pico and that one has a tremendous head start, good backing and great customer service behind it. It's a cool looking machine though and I agree competition is good but I'm not sure how big the space is for multiple...

Tread carefully with Brewie. Their customer service is putrid. That was the one I had my sights set on until I tried getting any help/info from them. Lots of problem reports on the thread here. I would wait until they at least have the kinks worked out. Despite being way behind on delivery of...

I'm doing ok with 05 since my first full pack cider bomb batch. I don't doubt liquid is better tho. That has been my experience even with traditional AG brewing. It's just way more consistent. I will likely go that route when my new kegs come in and I can do double batches. But for now 1/2 tsp...

Yes Kody you absolutely can do that. I'm still waiting for the first person who has actually happily used the serving keg to dispense beer to visit this forum

How do you like the GF Denny. I've been going back and forth on getting one

I think brew unlimited appeals to a very small niche though. A new brewer isn't likely to commit 500 up front and more experienced Brewers like some of us have a lot of different options and ways we like to brew. I think it's a good deal when you price it out though. Just not sure I'd be able to...

I think you are spot on. Pico for me is something I use when I want to brew but have limited time. If I have a free weekend, I'm doing a 3 or 5 gal AG batch. It's cheaper and much more cost effective. Plus, I actually enjoy the process. Yeah it's a lot of work but it's the type of work that can...

Good to know. Yeah I would siphon before I would push with air. I honestly never even considered using that option

This is exactly what i tried when I did use one but for whatever reason even when I dialed it back I still got foam city. Not sure what I did wrong. Luckily that was one of the full pack pitch cider bombs so I did mind just tossing it

Like Denny said a while ago, I just can't get comfortable pushing the beer with air. It just seems wrong lol. I know it's harmless. Some old dogmas die hard I guess
