Blue Digital temperature gauge for Keezer

When you're spending money on something like this, to me it's worth it to spend just a little more on Perlicks. Especially if you think you're just going to upgrade down the road. Never had a stuck tap once, even when I didn't pull from one of them for well over a month. If you're feeling...

Blue Digital temperature gauge for Keezer

Nothing special about mine since so many others go this route too, but here you go: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/3-tap-5-cu-ft-keezer-284222/

Blue Digital temperature gauge for Keezer

If you want the display, I second the advice for getting an STC-1000. They are very cheap and surprisingly easy to wire up. Even if you have almost no electrical knowledge or experience. I have one in the collar of my keezer and one in a project box controlling my ferm chamber and they work...

    The Mash Menagerie

Sounds like some good DIY projects in the making. I have used the STC-1000 (a/k/a ebay temp controller) for both my keezer and ferm chamber and it works great and the price is right. I'm not sure what paying more for the Love controller gets you other than maybe slightly better accuracy and...

Keezer Collar Temp Controller Wiring & Fan Wiring Questions.

This is similar to what I did as well, although I used the STC-1000. I also ran the cord powering that fan through the same hole. The controller is also boxed. The wiring is not as neat and pretty as others on the inside, but you'd never know that from the outside.

    DIY Fermentation Chamber

Go for it. For me, DIY solutions are a fun part of the hobby.

    DIY Fermentation Chamber

I didn't read your original post very closely. You caught me. I just wanted you to know that this was a very doable project. I think you should go for modifying the cabinet, rather than try and build one. And the casters aren't a real necessity unless you need to move it often.

    DIY Fermentation Chamber

I forgot to mention you will definitely need a fan in there to circulate the air or it won't be evenly cooled

    DIY Fermentation Chamber

I would rip the guts out of that mini fridge and mount the compressor and coils outside of the cabinet, and the freezer plate inside the cabinet. Then line the inside with insulation. I would also build a false floor and put insulation under it. Then wire in the STC-1000 and you will be set. I...

    Dual temp controller question

I also recommend the STC. I only use the cooling function (I live in Tucson) for my ferm chamber, but wiring in a heating pad or light bulb would be very easy. It's also a very cheap solution. Win-win.

Alternative controller for Coffin of your Keezer?

I used the aquarium controller for my keezer and it works great. Although I don't have a coffin setup (I used a collar). If you want to have the fan run when the compressor kicks on, you will need to use a relay. There are some good examples if you look through the ferm chamber threads. But...

    WLP400 stuck fermentation?

I've heard others say the same thing about WLP410. Awfully annoying that WLP400 is such a finicky strain to work with. I went to my LHBS and picked up some Safale-05 to finish it out. We'll see how it goes. Could end up being a little over-attenuated, but that's OK.

    WLP400 stuck fermentation?

It's frustrating because this is only about 50% apparent attenuation. Dumb yeast, indeed.

    WLP400 stuck fermentation?

It's not a stupid suggestion. But yeah, the hydrometer is good and there is no krausen. I've tasted it and it is alright. A little on the sweet side of course. I have considered just kegging it, but it would only be about 3.4% ABV which is a little low.

    WLP400 stuck fermentation?

Only one problem....I have been shaking it.

    WLP400 stuck fermentation?

So I brewed a Belgian Wit (SG 1.046) and pitched a Belgian Wit yeast (WLP400), using a starter on 4/30. I had it in a ferm chamber at 68 degrees for 7 days (5/7) and the gravity was at 1.020. I then boosted the temp to 72 and checked it on 5/12 and it is still at 1.020. Any suggestions? I'm...

    Collared Keezer List

    My 5 cu. ft version:
  18. adamensis

3 tap, 5 cu. ft keezer

It's a Norge. I don't have the model number (the sticker got lost during the re-paint). Not sure if they make them anymore. I would guess it's about 15 years old. This model is 2'x2' and 35" high stock and 2'x2' and 47" high with the collar.

3 tap, 5 cu. ft keezer

Here is a pic without the kegs (it's a bit dirty in there...and a pain to clean) and two with two kegs in different positions. I only have two at present, but I was able to fit a 1/6 bbl keg of commercial beer in there as well.

3 tap, 5 cu. ft keezer

No worries. I used liquid nails. Others have used other methods like caulk. Take a look through other keezer builds to get a feel for what you want to do (there are tons...). You can also put hinges on the lid and the collar. In this case you wouldn't need to secure it, but rather insulate...
