Picnic Tap 2.1 vs. Nukatap Mini

Mine has survived at least 2 parties without any sign of failure, so at least one data point says yes.

Thanks for catching that, I forgot to set permissions. Should be fixed now.

Picnic Tap 2.1 vs. Nukatap Mini

@KegLand sent me their flow control disconnect and nuka mini tap as well; I thought I already posted my review in the other thread but must've fat-fingered the post button. Sorry for the delay, Kegland. Anywho, @GoodTruble seems to have had a similar experience to mine (great write-up, btw)...

Awesome, I’m very interested! All four of my taps are Nuka FC

    50% DME + 50% Dextrose For a Starter?

I want to spin up a starter today, but I'm running low on DME, and the homebrew store is closed today, so I was thinking of supplementing with sugar. I know that a 100% sugar starter is a bad idea (I've read the xBMT and heard others' bad experiences) but what about half and half and some yeast...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

Awesome review, thanks for the side-by-side pics! I've since used the PT 2.1 on a few other brews, and it's been leak-free and non-foamy for all of them. I think the problem was that the first beer I tried was an American wheat, so maybe the more foamy nature of the wheat base caused my issues...

    Summer 2023 Corny Keg "Giveaway

Going on 8 kegs since the last refill, all of them force carbed and purged as well.

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

The video shows it in combination with a flow control disconnect, which purportedly does a similar thing.

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

An update for anyone interested: I noticed that the foam only started coming out when I opened the tap all the way, but if I twisted just short of the tactile click—say 90% of the twist tap's throw—it pours perfectly. The leak continues, but much slower with the partial twist method. It seems...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

He mentions that it does just that with an adapter called the Cheap & Cheer bottle filler, but I can't find any sites selling it stateside.

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

The picnic tap 2.1 does seem to use the same twist tap you posted, and it does come attached to a disconnect, but the real magic is that thanks to the spiral flow reducer, it can attach directly to a keg and dispense without foaming, without any beer line. Of course, my post and some of the...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

Yep Done and done! Yeah, I took it apart to clean and made sure the spiral flow reducer was seated properly and facing the right direction, the problem persists. Trong replied to my email within minutes and then offered to send me a replacement part kit. Trong seems like a great business...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

It’s leaking from between the twist top and the faucet itself, and it only leaks when I turn it off, but the drips quickly subside.

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

Has anyone had leaking and foaming trouble with the Picnic Tap 2.1? It's pretty frustrating that the thing I bought to avoid a certain problem is now causing that problem. The leak appears to be coming from the twist tap on the faucet. Would love to hear how anyone hear solved similar problems.

Doin' the Most is a quality channel, they'd be a great choice for this.

    Warm taps foaming initially

She really likes my beer and puts up with me using the kitchen for cleaning, so I'm afraid that's out of the question ;) That's my current method. But dang, certain styles have some potent foam! Or I am just a wimp. Interesting, I hadn't thought of that. I used picnic taps before I built my...

NEW British all-in-one Brewing Tech coming to the USA - Pinter

As has already been said, I think this will appeal only to novice brewers or those with a passing interest. I don't think anyone on this forum is in your target market. I'd be very interested if you sent some sample units to prominent Youtube brewing channels so we can see how they work from...

    Warm taps foaming initially

I built a keezer last year and it's been awesome, but I've had a persistent problem with foam during initial pours. I keep my keezer in the garage (no space for it inside and the wife wouldn't particularly care for it) and I live in Texas, so temps inside the garage regularly go into the 100s...

    Homemade Baja Blast?

I've been curious about trying to make some homemade Baja Blast soda, but I haven't found much online about people doing the same. I see that there's a company in Canada that sells what is purportedly baja blast-esque syrup, but they don't ship to Texas. My friends are too impressed with my...
