    100% Stainless Heating Element

The element that started this thread was found to be about 2500W @ 220V.

    Beaglebone Black control panel build

I suspect you might have some issues with the pumps located like that with the hoses dropping down into a loop. Priming will be a challenge.

Lighted sight glass for my HLT

I was once looking at some hollow stainless sphere floats at McMaster. Seemed like they would probably work. Always meant to add one to my next order and then forgot.

    240v BoilCoil Feedback

Who knows... Starting with a block of ice might be the next new method of brewing. :)

    240v BoilCoil Feedback

I bought the 20 gallon version but it'll be a bit before I get it all hooked up. Should be sufficient power, no different than the other elements people use. Great Fermentations lists this formula for an idea of the heating rate: Ramp Rate in °F/minute = 0.0068 X Watts / gallons

Adventures in Homebrewing Economy wort chiller thoughts

What is your batch size? Is this a full 5 gallons you're trying to chill? Outside or stovetop? -- I feel like being in Florida with warmer water ground water, this will probably not be the last chiller you own. If you think you're going to be in the hobby for a while, I would probably step...

Adventures in Homebrewing Economy wort chiller thoughts

Except that one is 25' of 3/8" tubing for $40. This chiller would probably cost about the same as making one when you're purchasing quantities for a single chiller. DIY isn't always cheaper.

Adventures in Homebrewing Economy wort chiller thoughts

AiH is pretty awesome; I think their description gives you a good idea of what you're getting. The height is probably not that much of an issue, you can probably work around that. I had a similar chiller years ago (my first chiller) and that vinyl tubing will get pretty soft from the hot...

There have been a couple posts about these valves in the past; check out some of the posts by kladue.

    Melted 40Amp FOTEK SSR

Agreed. I'm sure the vast majority of people have had no issues but you should be aware that fakes exist (especially on eBay) and those fakes might not be built to the proper standards. For something like a fermentation chamber that is running unattended, I wouldn't want a knockoff SSR to be a...

Thanks for posting this. I just ordered from these guys, they were the best price that I could find (free shipping really makes it hard to beat).

    100% Stainless Heating Element

Originally I think they were offering a discount of $45 per element if you bought three + $30 shipping. Now they're $55 each if you buy three with FREE shipping. That's a much better... Hey! Wait a second! :) Yeah, same price as before. It's on the high end of what I'd be willing to...

    100% Stainless Heating Element

I think you're the guy to get these out on the market and in your product line... :) It looks like a select few people have managed to find manufacturers. The one I found looks to have turned out to be 2500w instead of 5200w but the base itself is obviously no different. I'd probably be...

I just had a great idea!!!

You'll probably want to get rid of that fluorescent light.

Flex Seal (As Seen on TV Stuff) inside a Keezer

I used the Rustoleum brand on a leaky gutter and it started leaking again pretty quickly. Maybe I needed to prep the area better but it seemed like water just found it's way under the seal and lifted it up.
