    Seeds in Hops?

Year plus old Northern Brewer whole hops from Freshops. These were the only hops used in the batch. It's strange, I have a 1/2 ounce leftover and I don't see any seeds in these. But there were a good dozen seeds floating during the boil, I managed to scoop a few and saved them.

    Seeds in Hops?

Anyone ever find seeds in hops? Just brewed a batch and had a bunch of seeds floating at the end. Never experienced this before....

    Honeywell vs Auber PID

This is a good PID, but it looks like it is current out only so unless you are using it to drive an SCR Power Controller, it's probably not what you need. On the other hand, this is exactly what I need.

    Level Control Sensor

I've already got the controller, the price was right (free). I'm just having trouble thinking up sensors. I am thinking about getting a few PTFE screws and pressing some stainless pins in sort of like this: I was just hoping for something a little bit simpler.

    Level Control Sensor

In putting together my RIMS system I have acquired a level sensor: http://ecatalog.gemssensors.com/ecatalog/warrick-controls/en/16HMJ1A0 I'd like to use it to shut off power to the heating element if it doesn't see continuity between two points in the RIMS tube. I've got it figured out from...

    Will the compact fridge work?

I have this exact fridge and I was able to make it work. You have to bend the freezer section out of the way, being extra careful not to crimp the tubing and then place the separating tray in front of the freezer bottom (evaporation coils) to get a good separation between the cooling coils and...

    Early Fermentation Oxidization

Interesting. This makes me think that it one is brewing a big enough beer without pure O2, then it would be advisable to open the top up and provide a second manual aeration after a day or two since it is impossible to reach optimal O2 levels by shaking, stirring or pumping air alone....

    Early Fermentation Oxidization

As I think about this a little more, I suppose this would increase the early fermentation byproducts. I'd rather not have a heavy diacytal flavor in my Irish Stout....

    Early Fermentation Oxidization

I brewed a batch and due to an equipment issue, I was forced to put the batch into an empty cornnelius keg with a airlock. Would there be problems if I racked it into a carboy 16 hours after the beer has started fermenting in the primary. I know you want to limit the introduction of oxygen...
