    Shorten the boil?

You did a 30 min mash and/or 30 min boil? I thought the DMS issues were uniquely related to length of boil.

    Shorten the boil?

Just to give an update, the Electric Pale Ale I mentioned in the original post was brewed with a 30 min boil and was excellent. Very happy with the result. Will brew this hefeweizen this weekend: Brewfather ... so, there is 30% Pilsner. Would this be the reason to do a 60 minute boil...

    Shorten the boil?

Well, my favorite brew is my beer, so then I have a quandary ;) Seriously, I like to brew and like to test new methods that make the whole process more fun than it already is. So, that's why I threw this question out there. Thanks for everyone's 2 cents!

    Shorten the boil?

Looks like the guy typically does a 30 min mash and 20-30 minute boil and he's almost always satisfied. I think i'll give it a shot!

    Shorten the boil?

I'm always looking for a shortcut ... that doesn't diminish the final result. Also, I often have a strict window of time, so if I can't fit the brew in, then I just don't do it. Depending on the day, those 30 minutes could make the difference.

    Shorten the boil?

Hi, I brewed a Dry Irish Stout today - Brewfather - and boiled 30 minutes as suggested at 10m45s here: Thinking about shortening the boil from 60 to 30 for this: Electric Pale Ale ... hop additions start late in the boil at 20 minutes. Is it a good candidate for a 30 minute boil? Do you...

    Stout final Gravity and water

Hello, I brewed a Black is Beautiful stout 10 days ago but am uncertain about its final gravity and the water adjustments made. Here is the recipe for an 11 litre batch ... My OG was 1.066 and I mashed a 154 for 60 mins. I pitched US-05 at 67 and it fermented at 68. After five days the...

    Black is Beautiful ingredients

Hello, I would like to make this stout but had to substitute key ingredients that are available here in Switzerland, using this: Brewing grain substitution chart For example, I can't find chocolate malt and had to substitute Carafa Special II, the closest I could find. Also, I we don't have...

    Vienna Pale Ale

Hello, I have no base grains Pale Ale, Pilsner or Maris Otter and want to use up malts that I bought in April. I pieced together an ale with Vienna as the hero (of which I only have 1.3 kg). I was inspired by these threads and came up with my own recipe based on ingredients in stock...

    Belgian Blonde with Pale 2-row??

Hello, just bottled an IPA and had the same FG as the batch of the Belgian Blonde of 1.020. Its been in the FV two weeks and I was expecting FG 1.012. I set aside a small volume (.5l) just for testing gravity. It was in a different container and I added the same yeast (Safale 05). I measured...
