    Can water be too hot?

    When adding the yeast into the fermenting bin. Can the water be too hot? If so what will happen? It says on the instructions 18 to 22 But is was a hot summer's day & it wouldn't drop below 34.

    Hi, I'm new to home brewing, I was wondering, if I had extra sugar at the very start, does this turn in to alcohol & make the beer stronger?

    Thanks for your reply, the fining agent is just some I brought in Wilkos with my homebrew kit. I didn't know there are different types.

    Hi I'm new to all this. I'm just in the process of making some IPA & was going to put some fining agent in it, to clear it. At what point do I put them in & how much to put in? I was going to siphon it out of the fermenting bin into Demijohns & add it then, but still unsure 🤔

    I've just made some pale ale for the 1st time, it only fermented for 2 to 3 days & stopped is this normal?
