    Cold crash, gelatin, bottling

The thing is I'm not sure if I had problems, but I have had batches that did not taste that good and want to learn if oxidation was a contriubtor to them. I've been ignorantly blaming it on oxidation, but could really have been something else, like underpitching, temperature etc. I guess I...

    Cold crash, gelatin, bottling

@Pappers_ I'm not quite sure how I will do it yet, but might just go with cold crash and gelatin. I think I will bottle straight from fermentor with priming sugars inside the bottles, just to minimize oxidation risk. If it works, great, if it doesnt, atleast i know, and being a pale ale...

    Cold crash, gelatin, bottling

Does gelatin work only with cold temperature or can I add gelatine and just bottle after a few days without cold crashing?

    Cold crash, gelatin, bottling

I have a pale ale in the fermentor and planning to cold crash it after fermentation is over and then add gelatin for the first time, before bottling. I'm curious if this will be a problem with oxidation. First of all I need to cold crash and I understand that it will cause pressure; so when I...

Underpitching lager yeast, what can go wrong?

Ok, thanks. I just took the advice from this artcile https://www.homebrewtalk.com/lagering-101-need-know-making-lagers.html , where it says to keep it 2 days at 65f, but i started to cool it down already. My plan is to cool it to 60f first and then down to 50f, probably over the coming night.

Another batch, another post asking "What is this"

Looks normal to me, no need to scoop it or anything. Just let it be and it will sink to the bottom when fermentatuin is over.

Underpitching lager yeast, what can go wrong?

Yesterday i brewed my first ever lager, I'ts a maibock and I got an OG of 1.070. Prior to brewday I made a 2l yeast starter and I used one smack pack of wyest 2124 (bohemian lager). Only 5-6 hours after pitching the airlock had activity. Now I have read that when makeing a lager you need to...

Kieselsol + Gelatine for fining, any luck?

Thanks for the advice, I guess i'm going to try the product I have, probably wont hurt the beer. The instruction are pretty forward and will create a solid sediment that falls to the bottom. Won't be needing it in a few weeks though.

Kieselsol + Gelatine for fining, any luck?

What if you're going to bottle condition, do you need to transfer to secondary and then use the gelatin and what's is the difference between liquid gelatin and the powder form? I just bought that product so i need to use it, maybe I just use the gelatine I dunno yet.

    Fermentation chamber heating?

Where I live we only have few hombrew shops in the country and they only have the 25w one, 40w sounds good though.

    Fermentation chamber heating?

No it's a medium sized chest freezer. I have been reading threads, but I just wanted opinions on the 25w pad and i guess it's a bit small. I read some information from reviews and seems that it's not intended to heat it up so much. But i guess i'm going to run with this system, it produces fair...

    Fermentation chamber heating?

My space heater turns off, well it's on, but the heating and the fan are not working and after maybe 30min it turns on again for a few minutes. I have gotten the temperature to rise for a beer im fermenting atm from 64 to 68 in about 6-8h, so it works but i'm not so happy with this solution. I...

    Fermentation chamber heating?

Hello! I use a chest freezer that is connected to an inkbird as my fermentation chamber and I'm looking to add a heating source to it. Today I bought a small electrical heater, but the safety is over sensitive and turns it off after just two-three minutes inside the chamber because of over...
