Tell me about your fly sparge

I'm running a 10 gal custom electric HERMS system with a 20 gal MT. I started out with fly sparges on a basic 5 gal system, and for no good reason stuck with it when I moved to the second system. On the 5 gal system, I used the method originally described, ie did not measure fly sparge volume...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing 10 gal of Imperial New England Farmhouse IPA (kegs 175/176). Got an early start, nearing the end of the mash. - Gregg Currently brewing Barnglow (Imperial New England Farmhouse IPA, 9.8%, 90 IBUs) Cellering Belgian quad (10%) Drinking House Mouse Demise (imperial multigrain...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Back in business, mashing 32 lbs for a quad. V22 is running nicely. Thanks BrunDog! Finally got a decent digital scale that can handle up to 55 lbs. Should have done that long ago. My controller build is by a friend from maybe 8 years ago, I swapped out the board and Brewtroller for a MEGA and...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

No changes to my system, thanks @TenaCJed and @RiverCityBrewer for checking on your ends. Here is what I'm getting, I'd be more suspicious of my end if @RiverCityBrewer wasn't also seeing an issue. 08:47:09.443: Attempting to synchronize local license with server... 08:47:12.387: Exception...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I seem to be having trouble reaching the license server this morning, my install is not licensed, and I'm getting timeouts when I try to activate my license or request an eval license. The system has internet connectivity, so I don't think it's my end. Anybody else having trouble? - Gregg

    What are you drinking now?

Thanks! This is a system a friend (Nick Barnes) built, I bought it from him and of course started modding. Swapped out the old controller for a Mega setup and BruControl from @BrunDog, which has been great, I run it in a virtual PC on a Mac. It was originally a RIMS setup with the two 15g...

    BrewTroller to BruControl conversion

Well it was going fantastic until a hose came undone during chilling. I guess I need to get hose clamps everywhere, duh. The yeast was going away at it this morning, so we'll have to see how things turn out. Now I just have to finish cleaning that corner of the garage tonight ;-).

    BrewTroller to BruControl conversion

For fermentors, I have a 14 gal Spike conical, a 7 gal Spike Flex, and a 7 gal SSBrewtech Brewbucket. I have a three faucet fridge, I run all nitro, one stout faucet and two Ventmatics (I'm a gigantic Ventmatic fan, those faucets are the best ever!).

    BrewTroller to BruControl conversion

I got this system from a friend, it was an older BrewTroller setup. I couldn't get a SW/HW combo that was current to run, so I ended up swapping out the boards and going to a BruControl config. It was a 10 gal RIMS system, but I like to fly sparge plus I wanted to be able to do 10 gal batches...
