    Mash paddle decision

What is the process for underletting? Are you guys using a AOI system or multiple vessels? I can see if you have separate vessels for heating up liquor and then a mash tun but in an AOI I'm not sure how this would work....

    Root beer fermentation

I have been down this road before. My conclusion is this: The easiest and safest way to carbonate non alcoholic root beer, is to just make a concentrated syrup and add this to bubbly water. Or soda stream..... Using yeast to carbonate will create bottle bombs unless you pasteurized after a...

Advice on how to enjoy homebrewing over the years without becoming an alcoholic.

I'm pretty much obsessed with beer but I am not an alcoholic nor do I think I have an addiction. I think about beer a lot and I even work in the beer industry. I homebrew (of course) and I get free commercial beer. I wear beer swag and pretty much everyone who knows me knows I love beer. But I...

how about a meme generator thread...

As someone who lives in a country where this is a common name. I definitely got a chuckle from this. Good thing I wasn't drinking anything or woulda sprayed out my nose.

Sweet Potato Wine- Anyone Done It?

I've read that sweet potatoes have diastatic power to convert their starches to sugar. Not sure what the sweet spot temp would be but theoretically, masserate, mash, lauter, boil if you wish... Then ferment...

    Rye flavour

I love to use rye and also don't know what people are talking about with the spiciness. My assumption is that they equate the rye maltiness to rye bread. Which has a bit of a "bite" to it but not because of the rye but because of the caraway that is often used in rye bread. If you want a...

    Flip cap failure...

Are your tops plastic or ceramic? I had a case of plastic tops and about a third to half wouldn't carb despite having brand new rubber seals. I noticed in the manufacturing the plastic tops had a very slight seam going down as a radius and I suspected they were letting out air. I switched to...

    Bottle Conditioning

What are you using for caps? Standard crown caps or swing top? Other? What's your capping process like? How long did you wait before you tried the beer?

Irish moss worthwhile in Irish Red?

Personally I like my Irish reds to be "bright" so I'd go for it. What's one teaspoon (or less?) of Irish moss if you have it on hand? My process also includes cold crashing and gelatin fining almost regardless of style. In an Irish red I'd go for it.

    DIY CO2 Tank Stand?

Hi Ya'll, I have a 15kg Co2 tank. It stands about 36 inches tall (or so). With a dual regulator on top, it's quite top heavy and prone to tip over...It's already happened a few times and not my pressure gauges need replacing. I will definitely do this but I want to solve the tippy tank issue...

    i dont brew to style

For me, I always feel like I'm doing my best imatation or an homage to a style. That is I never get it perfectly right but I'm almost happy with the results. Sometimes my beer is the only time I've ever tasted a style, other times I brew and I feel it falls woefully short of what I thought to...

I've been invited to do a pro/am brew. I'm stoked!

I'm a bit late to this party but congratulations @MaxStout. That must have been a pretty cool experience. Keep us updated when the beer is on tap and how well it is received. Being originally from MN myself it's cool to see stuff like this happening around there. Cheers!

    Regulator question about leaking

I have something similar, do you have quick disconnects at the end of the lines? If so, you'll be fine even if you had a bit of pressure in there.
