12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

My last one of these was sadly undrinkable. I popped the cap and tried to pour it but it foamed over so much that I ended up with an oz. in my glass covered with a glass of foam and most overflowed down the drain. Don't worry about a replacement or anything. The first 2 we're quite good! I'm...

I have a full collection from group 2 with no casualties. Awesome job everyone! I'm going to start getting into these tonight. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in orchestrating this.

To group 2: I show all of the Quad shipments as delivered. If you didn't receive yours by today, PM me. My only shipment I'm waiting on is going to be here tomorrow according to the tracking which will complete my collection. Looking good group 2!

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

Yes, mine is in transit. 5 boxes will be delivered by the end of the day today (east coast), the remaining show arrival on the 18th. I haven't seen anything from @Zimm9 since she posted about her labels having trouble sticking.

I just PM'd the tracking numbers for the Quad in group 2. All I have yet to receive are @Zimm9 (Abbey Weizen) and @anotherbeerplease (Spiced Bourbon Stout) Almost there! I'm looking forward to having all 10 lined up!

If you click reply on the first post and then click the tool in the upper right hand corner "Use BB code editor" to copy the raw code of the post with the links in it. I imagine you can post that raw code in a new thread in a similar manner.

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

I received the group 2 Spiced Dunkel Weizenbock and the Crabapple Lambicky today safe and sound. I dropped off the "samples" of the Quad tonight at the UPS store. I'll get y'all tracking numbers later when I have a few minutes. He said the CA shipments would get there next Tuesday so everyone...

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

For group 2: I'm working on getting labels sorted and hope to have mine shipped by the end of the week or early next week. My label game is not as strong as some lol!

I agree. It would be more than I budgeted for.

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

I was under the impression it was 3 as well so I'd only be able to add a bottle to some orders. 33 bottles across 9 shipments.

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

I have 35 bottles of the group 2 quad sitting in my basement. Been there since February. Bonus: It won runner up in the Belgian category at a local brewery's home brew competition!

New all grain brewer water question

If you're brand new to all-grain, I'd recommend to just use the water you've been using. Run it through a carbon filter at the very least. No need to further complicate your first all grain brew day. You can make a very good beer with water that isn't modified. As for chlorine, if you can't...

    Hello from ohio

Welcome from Lebanon, OH. If you haven't found it already, Listermann is in Cincinnati and has a great home brew store. They brew beer on premesis as well! The people there are a great resource and they'll probably tell you the local Homebrew club is the Bloatarian Brewing League (BBL).

    How did you start...?

My friend invited me I we to help him with a RIS extract kit. It turned out good but was flat in the bottle which got me researching things and I ended up here. The following Christmas, my brother got me a 5 gallon starter kit with buckets, siphon, capper, etc. From there, it all went very...

    Beersmith question

My vote is that you edit your equipment profile so that the program calculates what you need for your setup. The values you need to edit include mash tun loss, kettle trub loss, boil-off rate and fermenter trub loss. If you get it right, the program will calculate back from your desired...

    Visual fermentation cues

I don't disagree with you. I meant to say that it's my opinion that 2 weeks is a minimum, however I know there are plenty of people that monitor fermentation closely and have had success with less time.

    Visual fermentation cues

How long has it been fermenting? Assuming it's an ale, it needs a bare minimum of 2 weeks but I typically keep it 3 weeks. When I open it on bottling day, the top is 90% clear but there is yeast residue and hop debris floating around.
