    Lemon Shandy needs sweetness

Waiting 2 more weeks b4 uncapping another bottle was my first thought. Hoping things mellow down by then. Gonna also try adding a half cube of sugar to one bottle and let it sit for a week. Thanks for the thoughts.

    Lemon Shandy needs sweetness

Brewed a 5gal basic wheat. Fermented and carboyed as usual. Per most forums I researched, I added 4 packs of unsweetened Kool aid and the regular amount of bottling sugar after 2 weeks, and bottled. Tried one 2 weeks later. Beer looks and smells like a lemon shandy, but has a very tart lemon...

    Baltimore City Water Report

I live in AA Co but since I drink spring water all the time, I've always used a 5 gal jug of deer park.

    What are you drinking now?

Punkineater Imp Stout. Got the last 3 quarts at Max's on Broadway (Bmore, Md.). Love stopping in there to check out their "close out" chalk board. Opens up the ability to try some odd stuff at half price!

    Messed up adding Hops

Agree with the others. In a nut shell, you made a hopstout! The hops will take away from the usual sweetness of a milk stout, but hey, you still MADE beer!

    Question About Steril Bottles

I rinse bottle after pour, then store upside down. On bottling day, I run them through the dishwasher. I sanitize a drying tree, then use a spray bottle and give each beer bottle a couple shots of sanitizer mixture. Hold bottle on its side and spin so you sanitize all around, place on drying...

Cooling Wort Fast Without A Chiller

7 bucks for 3 pounds of ice? Good Lord, do you live on an island in the Caribbean, lol. $6.75 gets you 40 pound bag in my area!

Cooling Wort Fast Without A Chiller

Yes. I use 5 gal of spring water. I boil with 3, and put the remainder in the freezer, then adding it back into the fermenter along with the hot wart at cool down time. Helps speed things up. Also, for those who soak the pot in ice baths, try adding salt to the bath, it greatly reduces the bath...
