Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

original ds18b20 is not that expensive but I am not sure where it is possible to get the original one already in thermowell and nice cable? https://www.digikey.no/product-detail/en/maxim-integrated/DS18B20-T-R/DS18B20-T-RCT-ND/3478852

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

I know the advantage of ESP32 in general, was asking speicially for this project, if there is any benefit.

also is there any advantage using esp32 over esp8266 (d1 mini)?

Hello good people, first of all I would like to ask why I see here 2 sensors with the same ID, same GPIO but different value? I have connected only one sensor to the Wemos. Is my sensor failing? Everytime I refresh that page I get different readings on both, but on the main screen of BPL I...

yes there might be like 2c difference top and bottom of the fridge, I guess it was even less in mine, fermenter took 90% of space and it is a huge thermal mass, outside of the fridge is 20C and I set beer to be 16-18 usually so not a big difference either. I can say it "worked well" as it did...

well I did not use fan at all and nothing bad happened, beer fluctuates by 0.2C max. But my freezer was small, one fermenter only.

yes exactly, sensor in small thermowell is fine enough. I just naked ds18b20 but I put it in plastic laboratory container, it acts better when opening the fridge as it does not hit immediately with the warm air but I used both and both are fine. It is all about the beer sensor which suppose to...

    beer shank ID

It is definitely a beer shank with the ending to screw a tap. It is just huge inside, probably it will cause a lot of foam so I will look for something better in the meantime.

    beer shank ID

It looks and feels like SS, yes the bore is huge... At my place it is hard to get and if then it is super expensive so I decided to order from china but I see it was a mistake maybe? It is made fairly good and is quite heavy.

    beer shank ID

Hi, I have ordered some beer shanks 92mm from aliexpress, there was no information about the internal diamater but it seems like it is huge :) it is 5/8 or 15mm, much bigger than my lines which are 3/16 inside. Will that be a problem? I read already about the turbulation to the beer which will...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Since I have my beer temp probe inside the fermenter on thermowell I am very fine with default PIDs, before when it was taped and isolated on the side of the fermenter I had to play with the PIDs.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

oh so its fine probably? Long time I did not use controller and I am fermenting right now, I observed that the cooling is not really overshooting but maybe because of the heat produced during first days of ferm. We will see :) I think I have played with those values before but now i started from...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Was anyone playing with the PIDs? "pidMax": 10.000,"Kp": 5.000,"Ki": 0.250,"Kd":-1.500 this is default and I do not now why Kd is minus? Should it be like that?

I have never laughed and I am not en expert, just wanted to correct you and It looks other people corrected me so I wanted to write my explanation of my thinking :) That is how we learn, we shouldn't laugh when one ask a question.

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

Well BPL comes from BrewPi right? And BrewPi is a controller (and software as well), so BrewPiLess is basically the same but without a Pi (ESP8266 instead). I understand that BPL is a hardware+software, like the whole package. ESP is just a microprocessor with network capability, it is not a...

the thread is about brewpi(less) so I am using this, there is no option to enable read values, and yes day_trippr is right, one is showing a value and the other not do not, anyhow both show the value at the main screen and graph.

anyone knows why a have no value at the sensor from chamber? It shows normally at the main screen but here in setup there is a blank space. There is something wrong with the sensor, cables or something or just a software thingi?

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I never had problem with my USB but I do have wemos backups as they are cheap, for USB especially micro and C hot air is best probabably, depends how many pins are there.
