    Harvest yeast a day later?

Kegged a session ale last night but my mason jars were still too hot to start washing when I was ready for bed. I sprayed the fermenter lid down and seal it backup. I'm thinking it will be fine to harvest tonight, left 1/2" of ale on the trub. Thoughts? It's WLP001 and hit spot on FG.

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Ok so can works, rheostat works, 1L flask with 2" bar finds its spot. Turn it on and it spins up and chucks the bar. Tried adding a second hdd magnet to no avail. Fan spinning to fast or another issue? Perhaps find a smaller power supply? Who knew this would be so frustrating. Edit: tried 3.5V...

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Just wired mine up using the switch and rheostat in the original post. Using a 11.6VDC 200mA power supply. When on and turned down the fan Judders and barely spins. Turn the rheostat and it reverses direction and does the same thing other directions, juddering. What's going on here? Edit: well...

    Three Floyds Yum Yum

Moors, thank you for the response. What is the OG and FG for your recipe? Also what yeast did you use from Imperial? My wife loves Yum Yum and based on its availability is love to try this. Edit: I see the yeast now. Still curious on OG and FG.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Started high 1.067 and finished low 1.016. Tossed in 4oz Citra dry hop, next brew I'm going to try dry hop in the keg. In the meantime I have the last batch in the leg to kick. Time to get busy!

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

9 days of carb/conditioning time and my "sample" is marvelous. Head retention isn't great, need to investigate that piece. However, perhaps most importantly, it taste amazing. Having not tried the real thing, I cannot comment to its likeness but it's a keeper recipe. And sorry, image is...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Nice. Took a sample from my keg this weekend, not quite fully carbed yet but tasty. I did notice some off flavored not quite lining up. Based on recipe and others notes I have to assume this is the "let it condition" phase. Still tasty (8oz of Citra how could it not be!).

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Racked to my keg last night. Didn't do a secondary on recommendation here and sure enough S-04 was settled tight on the bottom. I've only Purged and am conditioning but see no reason not to put the CO2 on it. 12psi for 7-10 days sound sufficient?

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Just checked, assumed final is 1.013. Tossed in the dry hop and will check gravity again when I pull it out. Seems I have a 6.6-6.8abv beer that smells awesome. Thanks for the help everyone.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I agree. All I was saying was his fermentation temp was already on the high side. I don't think after 11 days at 70f, raising his would make any difference. I think. I'm tired.

Rest for an ale is just a few days longer on the yeast past finish of fermentation yes? As long as the temp hasn't dropped too low making his yeast dormant they should clean it up. Or am I missing something?

At this point no I don't think so. Keep in mind your internal temperature during first few days can be 7-8f warmer than ambient. I've had some off taste in my last few beers (5-6 total) that I can point with good certainty to warmer than desired fermentation temps. That said its my understanding...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

72hrs in roughly and S-04 has quieted down, No airlock activity. Temp has dropped from 63-64 to 62. I went ahead and pulled from my swamp cooler to raise tele temp, ambient there is 66f. I don't have anything ready to test so I am winging it. Leave it at 66f for 4 more days and test then dry hop?
