    I did a bad thing???

Eight days ago I brewed a mystery surprise, I used what I had left in grain. If you want I can give the bill. It had a high starting og of 1.073 it was a 13 gallon batch. I pitched two packets of yeast, after 5 days the grav was only 1.063 so I dumped in more yeast. I figured it could...

    Mission Accomplished! First full Keg.

I just filled and pressurized my first cornie with 5 gallons of Blonde Ale. I put the pressure of my tank at 20 and purged the Keg of O2 and achieved a good seal. Do I leave all the co2 in the extra air space?

I have everything ready in my garage right now. Clean Cornies... Full CO2 tank... Regulator... Great Fridge... I do not have my ball lock disconnect and hoses. Also I think I am just going with a picnic tap right now because, as you have read before, I am cheap. Where can I get the...

    2nd AG completed... Question...

Well folks finished my second AG batch today. I have 11 gallons of Blonde Ale in the fermenter. My question is... I kind of went by Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde Recipe, and instead of 1.039 my OG is only 1.032. This is due to me getting a second keggle and overusing it. :drunk: Is...

    Fermenter Air Leak Question...

I have a plastic 15 gallon conical fermenter, the top is screwed on with stainless screws, which is causing air to leak out. Its not to much but enough to bug me as some of you may have noticed. What is the best way to seal that up? Should I just use silicone, or would that be bad for my beer?

    Keggle Strain...???

I did my first AG last weekend, looks like it is going very well. I had one snag however... After my boil I turned on my spigot on my keggle and it was clogged with hops. I have a stainless steel hose attached to my copper tubing. It seems to be too 'fine'. Any alternative suggestions...

    New Kegerator this week...

I have a fridge set up for two cornies. I want to have two on tap at all times. Here are a couple questions... Keep in mind I have always bottled and never kegged. 1) How large of a CO2 tank do I need? Will 5lb be sufficient? 2) For my CO2 regulator can I just get one? I have seen...

Just pitched my first AG Batch...

I am very satisfied with how it all went. I brewed it alone and the whole process took about 6 hours. I am however a bit concerned it has been 14 hours and I have no fermentation happening, should I be concerned?

    Keggle, first boil...

I made a keggle on Saturday. I did my first successful boil Sunday, just h20. After I let the water boil about 20 minutes and drained the water there was a lot of white residue left in the bottom of the keggle. I am doing my first big ag batch this friday, should that worry me? What was...

    New Fermenter!

I am very excited, I just got a great deal on a 15 (17) gallon conical fermenter! I am now in search of the right size kettle for 15 gallon batches. How many gallon kettle should I buy? One more question, where is a good spot to find 15 gallon recipes? I am converting one of my...

    Kettle and Outdoor Stove.?.?

I just bought this... http://www.weliveoutside.com/ProductImages/bayouclassic/Bayou%20Classic%20SQ14.jpg Which I believe should allow me to do large boils without ruining my kitchen stove. First question. Will that outdoor stove be sufficient? Second question. Where have all of you...

    Farming Hops...

Interesting to find out... Today I am having a conversation with my dad. I have expressed my interest in having a hop farm, right... I am an eight generation family member to this certain geographic area. My great, great, great, grandfather moved to these parts in 1860 and farmed hops...

Mash... - (do I need a grain mill?)

I would like to use no extract products to make my beer... I currently use just extract malt products and crystal malt to make my beer, no more cans. From what you all have experienced, is it worth it to have a small grain mill to make beer? To me it is more cost efficient than buying a...
