Is this beer even worth brewing....

Actually haven't checked it once. The lid went on TIGHT, and we forgot about it until now... May have been closer to 5 months... I'll wait to get sanitizer to sample it, worse case we can just brew another batch, and we'll then have sanitizer to do it... You guys don't think it'll have...

Is this beer even worth brewing....

Another question... We're out of sanitizer, I don't want to infect the beer either. What's the best way of tasting a little, without infecting the batch?

Is this beer even worth brewing....

I meant to say is it worth "bottling" apologies. I've got 2 dogs, a 15 month old, a fiance, work 50 hours a week, and also partake in hunting, video games, miniature war gaming, and have various home projects, so I kind of overextend myself in the hobby part of life... I don't like to be...

Is this beer even worth brewing....

Hey guys, Came to our attention that we had 5 gallons of a an extract belgian wit we brewed 4 months ago, but completely forgot about... Still in the bucket. Our house is generally on the cooler side living in NH, so I want to say temperature wise, it's been at a consitant 65-70 degree...

Is Extract not as good as BIAB or all grain?

I see often that new brewers transition from extract kits, to all grain or BIAB. What's the reasoning for this, using LME isn't best practice? I'm just curious. I plan on really getting into home brewing and hopefully following online recipes instead of just kits. Honestly, one day I'd love...

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

No worries at all. I love reading new techniques. I'm a HUGE fan of high gravity Imperial brews. Love any beer 7% and over. If you can, keep us updated with your beers status. maybe we can do a trade with 6 packs! :)

Ok cool. Didn't know if what I experienced was pretty normal, I just hate wasting beer...

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

You're awesome. Helping out so much. Another question while we're on the subject... I noticed using the syphon hose, while transferring to bottling bucket that there was still a decent amount of sediment on the bottom(obviously it won't disappear...) I didn't want to syphon a lot of that into...

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

I'll do that. Wouldn't the ABV be a product of your OG prior to fermentation, and your FG post fermentations though?

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

This is great info. I'll let them age... But out of curiosity did they taste fine, when you opened them as soon as they fully carbonated? I mean, was not letting them age a choice in which they weren't good to drink? To everyone else I appreciate all of the advice. I also noticed less trub...

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

I appreciate this! It probably would have been better on my part to state that I have already bottled this a week ago. So far no bottle bombs! I did the priming sugar like required, I'm just REALLY hoping it carbonates and I didn't mess anything up by letting it sit 8 weeks... :(

how long should I let my Russian imperial stout bottle, and a couple of fermenting ?

Hey guys So couple of things here. I let my RIS ferment for 8 weeks. Mostly because initially it had a lot of krausen, and I just couldn't get time between work to have a bottling day. Is that too long to let it ferment? The gravities both OG and FG lined up nicely. My other two...

Easiest way to sanitize bottles with starsan?

Would the sides of the bottles make the bucket of sanitizer dirty? Just dunking them in there? What about dipping hand in to retrieve them?

Easiest way to sanitize bottles with starsan?

Hey guys. You've already helped me so much with my home brewing endeavors. Well, now I need more help! It's finally bottling day after 4 weeks in the fermenter for my imperial Russian stout, what's the best way to sanitize 48 bottles? Anything I should watch out for? How long should I keep...

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

Good to note, didn't know that regarding the starsan. I'm going to do that from now on.

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

Woah, I just got schooled lol. I'll take this all into account this was interesting and will surely provide a base for some interesting reads later on, thanks!

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

I'm just curious as to why? I had a brew before that turned out ok. I figured the boil kills off anything. Well water is supposed to be the cleanest.

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

Can't tell if you're joking or serious here...

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

I got that now. In the future I'll use Vodka. But as I can't take things back, I was wondering about my current batch.

    Sorry guys I'm neurotic...

Also thought I should mention, we have well water. It's supposed to be one of the purest forms of drinking water, and gets filtered with salt.
