    Is my starter infected?

I made starter of Saison Farmahouse INIS291 and after some 20 hrs i am seeing 2 to 5 of these floaties. Some sink if the starter is slightly moved. Is this a contamination? I am thinking its just part of the yeast cake from the original container. Love to hear some thoughts.

Safale US05 creeped into high 70s for 6-12 hours

Hoping to get some thoughts on this. Lost temperature control for 6-12 hours on a dark ale using Safale US05. Went up to 78 when I caught it. Was able to quickly reset breakers and bring temp back down to 60 F. Pitching occurred yesterday late afternoon with a starter. Should I be worried about...

    Post your infection

Hi Guys! I am making a porter in a 1 gallon carboy. I am going to transfer to secondary and noticed what to me looks like floating krausen. But I'm not certain. Any idea if this is an infection?

    Post your infection

Wanted to get expert opinions on this one. This is my first 5 gallon batch, I've done three 1 gallons in the past without infection. Just opened after a week to dry hop, took a quick pic and closed the bucket. Is this an infection or just krausen still floating around?

    No fermentation signs

The wort was chilled to 60 F using immersion chiller combined with ice bath. The yeast came with the kit, dry yeast packet but unfortunately I didn't look at expiration or at the weight content. I followed the nit ructions by the BrooklynBrewing kit to use it all. It actually said to add it dry...

    No fermentation signs

Hi, I am new to home brewing. I am on my second batch, a Chocolate maple porter from a 1 gal kit I bought of my local homebrew shop. It's been 72 hours since I pitched and I have no sign of fermentation. I re-hydrated the yeast prior to pitching and the wort temp was at 68-70 F during pitching...
