Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Has anyone tried this with Falconers Flight 7 C's? How did it turn out? Is it still mellow enough for BMC drinkers? Going to make this for a gathering next month, I have 2oz of 7C's on hand. I also have an oz of Ahtanum and an oz of Amarillo. I might even do a double batch and try the 7c's...

What to do with gifted hop plants

I'm not quite sure how to include photos. But here are pics of the roots and the "rusted" hops. Hopefully this will work. The roots seem in very good shape no aphids on the roots, but they are all over the vines.

What to do with gifted hop plants

I had hoped to maybe use these as a dry hop but they really withered up and got funky. They look way overripe to the point of being spoiled. My friend is not a brewer and just dug these up to give them to me so I think they are way past harvest time and hopefully I can pick them properly next...

I keep reading how hearty they are so I'm probably worrying over them more than i should. I'll try to upload some pictures of what i have too. Also on a side note the hop cones, which...

What to do with gifted hop plants

So as a good will gesture an acquaintance has gifted me a couple hops plants in return for a recent favor. I'm thrilled to have them as i've always wanted to try growing a couple bines in the yard. We are not sure what they are. They were from the family's farm that their great grandfather...

    Festbier BierMuncher's OktoberFAST Ale (AG)

Thanks for the input, I kind of thought the same, real or imagined I'd be detecting a cidery fruity taste. I ended up just pitching a nicely rehydrated fresh pack of S-04

    Festbier BierMuncher's OktoberFAST Ale (AG)

Hi Everyone, what do you think would be the outcome if I pitched on top of a cider slurry brewed with S04? I'm planning to brew this tomorrow morning and I was toying with pouring this onto the slurry from my raspberry apple cider. I brewed the cider with S04 and its been in primary about 3...

    Kolsch - American Version?

I second dfborn! just my 2 cents but last spring i brewed Cream of 3 Crops and used a Kolsch yeast. Fermented at about 56 degrees ish sort of by accident. Conditioned for about 4 weeks. It was hands down the best brew I ever made. It mysteriously vanished in about a week. Lucky for me i saved...

Gelatin Finnings question on when to add

Hi All, I have been reading about finnings and i think i'm going to give gelatin a try. I will be bottle conditioning a Kolsch made with White labs Kolsch/ale yeast. My questions is about timing, when do I add the gelatin? I usually rack to a secondary, let it sit a couple weeks then...
