    Homemade Ginger Beer?

Nice, I'm looking forward to hear how this one turns out!

    Homemade Ginger Beer?

The oak addition definitely seemed to bring out the spiciness in my recent non-fermented ginger ale... I added about 1.5oz of French Chips, and let it steep for a few weeks. I'm going to try doing a fermented ginger beer next as you guys have mentioned. I may play around with making ginger syrup...

Anyone have examples of tidy beer line routing in keezer?

Ahh, that's a great idea! Easy to take off and remove for management unlike zip ties. I think I'll pick some of these up later and see where it takes me.

Anyone have examples of tidy beer line routing in keezer?

Looks good! I'm planning on doing the flow meters when I have some extra time to mess around with it so that's probably going to end up looking pretty messy. It's actually one of the main reasons I wanted to figure out line routing, so that way when I do install the meters it's not a complete...

Anyone have examples of tidy beer line routing in keezer?

Thanks for the feedback guys, just looking for some inspiration! Zip ties would definitely be a start. I'm really digging the 8-regulator setup you have there, that's epic. May have to upgrade to one down the road as that would really be nice for the wide variety of things I typically have on...

Anyone have examples of tidy beer line routing in keezer?

Hey guys, I have an 8-Tap Keezer which I built last year which just barely fits all 8 kegs in the area outside the hump. They are stacked in their like sardines pretty much, with no room on the sides of the wall to really move around at all. Currently I have 10' beer lines and gas lines that...

American IPA Bionic Commando - Pacific Gem (NZ) Single-hop IPA

I just ordered 4lbs of hops total, including 2oz each of NZ Pacific Gems, NZ Pacifica, and NZ Nelson Sauvin. I'm wondering what hops the Gems would compliment well in an IPA or Pale Ale.

    My Carboy/Keg Cleaner

Looks good! I keep debating as to whether I should just buy a Mark II washer or build my own. It's more so the time factor of finding all the right parts at Home Depot and then assembling everything vs. just ordering that one online and not having to spend a few hours setting everything up...

American IPA Bionic Commando - Pacific Gem (NZ) Single-hop IPA

That sounds really good! I'm curious to try a brew out with these types of hops.

    Homemade Ginger Beer?

Thanks for the tips guys! I've been experimenting with tweaking my existing keg in individual glasses with some extracts I've made, but haven't settled on anything final yet. For this batch I'm playing with adding a bit of black pepper, cayenne, or allspice extracts, and am also playing with...

Homebrewing saved me over $1000 in 2015!

Homebrewing has saved me a ton of money as well. I can always tell because sometimes I get busy and end up with nothing on draft, and then it's very easy to spend $100+ a month or more on just a few good six packs. I won't factor in the time spent brewing, because that's one of my favorite...

    Homemade Ginger Beer?

Thanks for the tips and info, guys. I'm going to experiment with adding lemon and lime juice and also citric acid in some test glasses, as I've only added boiled ginger to mine thus far. I've heard one person mention that depending on how you cook the ginger will effect the flavor which makes...

    Homemade Ginger Beer?

Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone's had any success making a Ginger Beer (soda)? I made Ginger Ale recently with a few pounds of raw ginger, and it tastes like Ginger Soda but doesn't have that dry spicy bite that a ginger beer has. Are there other ingredients or adjuncts that give it that...

Why do they say to add the wort chiller so late?

Ahh, that makes sense then. I'm using a Darkstar which isn't the most efficient burner but it does put out a decent amount of BTUs... but my wort chiller is on the smaller side...getting a big one like the Hyrda is on my wish list. But I can't see any harm with throwing your chiller in...

Why do they say to add the wort chiller so late?

I've never had an issue with adding the wort chiller affecting the the temperature/intensity of the boil... are you boiling on an electric stovetop or something along those lines?

    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

I actually did a quick 2-week fermentation for this beer, however now that it's kegged and tapped on Nitro it tastes great... I'm sure it will only get better with time.

    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

Just brewed this and it's pretty good, I do notice that it's ever so slightly tart though and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not. The only thing I deviated on the recipe was using Nottingham instead of the British Ale yeast. It may just be that I'm so used to drinking milk...

    Syrup bottles and Pumps

Lots of pretty cool antique ones out there, though some of them can get insanely expensive... but there's something cool about using an old piece of metal/glass technology that holds up to time... I'd check a local antique shop/mall or ebay.

Very Low Efficiency for a Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

Thanks, that makes perfect sense then. My boil kettle doesn't have indentations so I was just eyeballing it, but that does sound reasonable to me. Lesson learned!

Very Low Efficiency for a Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

You know what, I don't think I actually stirred everything up when I sparged though I usually do, so that probably didn't help. I'll play around with the spacing on the cereal killer to see where it's at, it may have wandered off. I've done a few big beers, though I most tend towards stuff in...
