    Best way to chill wort

I make 10 gallon batches so cooling for me was an issue with the AZ summer tap water temps. I ended up getting a sabco chill wizard, and a sump pump from homedepot. I recirculate ice cold water through the chill plate and back into the bucket, then add ice as needed. I can chill my 10 gallon...

Brew system to potential pilot brewery system

I love everything about my morebeer 10 gallon digital sculpture... the automated burner and pumps are amazing and make the brewing process that much more enjoyable. Overall, worth every penny in my opinion. Cheers!

Brewing for yourself, or for others?

When I started brewing I kind of entered the hobby on a whim. I started with a deluxe homebrew kit from Northern brewer and I haven't looked back. 4 or 5 years later, and I have my dream all-grain system, a beer room/bar in a spare room of the house, and a very supportive swmbo. My question is...

    Brew Dogs...

I watch this show as much as I can and really enjoy each episode. Yes, some of things they do are gimmicky, but it's a TV show after all and it's certainly entertaining. Like the Top Gear of craft beer, not everything they do is by the book, or even makes sense, but in the end its a great show...

    Critique my Blonde!

Hey guys, just looking for some feedback on a recipe that has been in the fermentor for about 2 weeks. Recipe was brewed on a 10 gallon digital morebeer sculpture. All PH numbers were hit, and my gravity/volumes were spot on, so I think it should turn out pretty true to what the recipe should...

What is the most unique beer you've made so far?

I have made a Blackberry Basil Wheat a few times now and each time it has been a hit. Nice blackberry aroma with a slight hint of basil. A very refreshing beer and the Nelson hops I use seem to play nice with the basil. Haven't had a chance to make it on my new AG set-up yet, but have the recipe...

Got through my first AG batch!

Well I brewed my first AG batch yesterday on the new morebeer sculpture! Everything went really well actually. I hit my PH almost dead on at 5.45 for the mash and my pre-boil volumes and SG were right where they needed to be too! The PH meter and digital refractometer worked beautifully! My...

I finally ordered my dream brew rig!

Haha, not single... Happily married with a very understanding swmbo! No natural gas unfortunately, just propane and I'll run the system with both garage doors open. Should be ok, but if not I'll install a vent. Cheers!

Getting an RO system - have a question!

After doing a bunch of reresearch on my own, and listening to far more experienced brewers than myself... I'm not worried about recirculating my ro water. I have a TDS meter and will check my water regularly, but I'm not to concerned about it as it will always have a lid on it.

Getting an RO system - have a question!

I got the tank from Aquafx at www.aquariumwaterfilters.com. The tank includes a almost airtight lid that helps to reduce contact with oxygen in the headspace of the tank. Its BPA/HDPE free food safe rated. It is more expensive then say a Brute cooler from a big box store, but to me knowing that...

Getting an RO system - have a question!

My single tier 10 gallon digital sculpture just shipped from Morebeer!!! Which to be honest was a lot faster than I thought it would considering I only ordered on the 1st. In preparation, I have been reading Water by Palmer and have used Beersmith/Bru n water to calculate my first AG recipe and...

Getting an RO system - have a question!

I plan to use this specifically for brewing purposes and I'm building my water profiles from scratch so it being deionized is fine for my system. Thanks for the advice on the tanks though!

Getting an RO system - have a question!

Morning guys and gals! I am getting a 5 stage RO system in couple days for my soon to be here AG sculpture. I plan to run the RO product out line to the garage so I can fill a 35 gallon HDPE/BPA free food safe storage tank. The tank will have an RO float that will turn off the system once my...

Question on Bru'n water vs. Brewers Friend

Sounds great, once again thank you for the advice!

    Unwanted Sour flavor in IPA

What kind 9f water did you use? DI'd you do any additions to said water? The reason I ask is because, per Palmers how to brew website: Magnesium is an important yeast nutrient in small amounts (10 -20 ppm), but amounts greater than 50 ppm tend to give a sour-bitter taste to the beer. Levels...

Question on Bru'n water vs. Brewers Friend

So I am using Beersmith, Bru'n water, and Brewersfriend in order to modify my RO water profile to suit my first AG batch and have a few questions. First off, I am using the Amber bitter target profile in Bru'n water because the Ingelwood IPA in Beersmith has an SRM value of 7.7 which puts it...

getting into AG, have some questions about my water chemistry!

Aj, I decided the best route to go with would be to just shell out a little extra and get an RO system. That way I'll be able to brew whatever style I need and can modify my water profile accordingly. Any recommendations on a storage vessel for the brewday RO water? Thank you for the input...
