Mowed, bottled some Irish Red, going out for lunch with my kids.

    Recipe Credits on Labels?

An interesting question, but in this case it would be more like a novice chef making a top chef's dish exactly as originally designed, and calling it by the same name as the top chef. I do like the idea of giving credit to HBT in general though.

    Recipe Credits on Labels?

Just wondering if anyone credits the original recipe creator on labels, and if so, how? Assuming you were bottling a batch of Cream of Three Crops as an example, would you in some fashion indicate that Biermuncher designed the recipe? Just curious what most of you do, if it isn't your recipe.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Just took my first post-fermentation hydro reading, my hydro sample was much more orange than the deep red I see in these pictures. OG was 1.055, FG (assuming it's done, which I need to confirm in a couple days) is 1.004. I did use Crystal 120 instead of Caraaroma, and Carapils in place of the...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Just made this as my second all grain, first one with my Victoria (corona) grain crusher. Smelled great, and came pretty close to hitting my numbers, 1.055 OG. I'm looking forward to this one based on all the comments. I'll post pics in a couple weeks once when I am doing my hydrometer...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

So my wife was baking and was about to throw away something that I decided would make the perfect hopper...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

I might go with the water bottle concept, but I'm a cheap bastard, so if I can I'd rather find something already laying around to repurpose instead. I have collected plenty of junk, surely I can find a way to put some of it to good use. Speaking of which, I have multiple ancient computers...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

I stumbled on this thread searching for help after a disastrous brew day. I decided to try my first all grain brew, BIAB style, so I acquired a Victoria mill and some uncrushed grain and set to work. Figured if I'm going to do it, I might as well crush my own. My refractometer (also newly...

Ignorant mob bully Coke from BVO?

You know, I've learned some very disturbing things about water, and think maybe I should make a blog post about it. For example, did you know that every single person who has ever died drank water at some point in their life? OK, the DHMO people do a better job than I do at the...

Finally figured out what a Yooper is

All right, apparently terminology in Southwest Michigan, where I have worked most of my life, is different than other places. I am very familiar with the term FIP, but have never heard anyone around here say talk about FIBs. So give me a hint cuz I can't figure out the B vs P thing.

    Northern Brewer Suppresses Negative Reviews

Note the underlined portions of the above quote, and compare them to the Product Description on the Northern Brewer website, which in part states: "Requires 3/8" ID tubing." I have no experience with either Northern Brewer or Blichmann, but in this case it appears to me that the product...

    Color blind brewing intro

Welcome. I would suggest that dipping your foot into beer may lead to off flavors though. :D

23 things a homebrewer is sick of hearing.

So after reading that list I'm just wondering one thing...Is it ready yet? :ban:

Judging the beer that wasn't there.

OK, I work in Quality Control and I can tell you that you are right, people make mistakes and whenever people are involved in a process there are bound to be errors. I can also tell you, however, that the types of mistakes being discussed in this thread sound like should be easy to prevent...

Got free bottles to give away? Post 'em here!

If anybody in Northern Indiana or SW Michigan has some extra bottles floating around, I'm a new brewing that would love to give them a new home. Michiana area. I live just west of South Bend, and work in Dowagaic.

New Brewer, I Might Have Gone Overboard

Wine, not a bad idea. Although my beer will be drinkable faster than her wine...good excuse to buy a few more Better Bottles, so I can fill the pipeline for her.:D Definitely thinking of relegating the Mr Beer LBK to doing all-grain, and for smaller batches of brews that I'm not sure are my...

New Brewer, I Might Have Gone Overboard

I'm already thinking about trying all grain next, though in my 2.5 gallon fermenter. I don't have a big enough pot to do a 5 gallon all grain brew. Thinking BIAB, not sure what type of brew. I'm thinking of trying a Wheat, or maybe a Blond? Haven't decided yet. And I'm already thinking of...

New Brewer, I Might Have Gone Overboard

So here's the story. I have from time to time thought about home brewing but always assumed it was too much work. About a week and a half ago, a guy I work with ran across Mr Beer kits (don't groan yet, read on) on sale in a local store. After reading the directions and looking at what was in...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Pitched the yeast into 5 gallons of Irish Red about 4 hours ago. Still new at this, so just a basic "kit" put together by my LHBS.
