    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

My bry-97 must have heard me talking about how slow it is because this is what I came home to, helped clear it up by spewing all the stuff out of the top! Still goin strong so hopefully I didn't lose too much yeast

    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

I used a whole tablet in 1 gallon :/ scaled everything down in the 5 gal recipe except the whirlfloc...my clouds aren't even really swirling they do move around but it takes hours to notice a change, it's bubbling away though so I'm not worried. And seeing that bry-97 is a generally clumpy yeast...

    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

Bry-97 + waaaaaay too much whirlfloc, strangest looking ferment I've seen so far but it is goin after not much action for 24 hrs.

    Way too much whirlfloc!

Ha I sure hope so! I plan on cold crashing when fermentation is done to hopefully compact all that down. I haven't had a krausen form yet, lots of white bubbles but no normal beige colored foam. I have read that the bry-97 can take a very long time to get going though so hopefully it picks up...

    Way too much whirlfloc!

I saw a couple threads about this but only found one person that gave the outcome of his beer. This is a hopslam clone recipe from this forum, my first time using whirlfloc (a whole tablet in 1 gallon :/) and bry-97 yeast (which after reading the thread on here, may have been another mistake)...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Thanks for the tips guys, this place rocks! I like the idea of just taking the measurement at mash/cool time and bottling time but also may have to pick up a refractometer, little more money and effort for from what I understand is a less accurate measurement but I'm not necessarily looking for...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Hope it helps you as much as it did me! I have a hydrometer that I haven't used yet, not sure if I want to risk pouring a sample back in or not, I know I definitely don't want to waste ANY amount from my already small 1 gallon batch. Does anybody have a method they use to test gravity from 1...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I'm a new 1-gallon homebrewer myself, 5 batches in and just about to be drinking my first (the warrior double IPA from BBS) for the Super Bowl. I also had to get a new stainless steel strainer since the one I had didn't quite cut it my first brew. I've also adopted a technique that I learned on...

American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

At this point all my fermenting is happening in my basement where the temp stays in the mid 60s, I know the temp will rise during the first stage of extremely active fermentation so I'm hoping that they don't go high enough and/or long enough to produce much if any off flavors. I actually...

American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

I just divided everything by 5 and ended up with 2 lbs - 2 row .4 lbs - Vienna .1 lbs - Cara-pils .1 lbs - Crystal 20L 1 oz of Centennial hops Your 4 hop additions at 60,15,5 and 1 minutes are all 5.6 grams (1/5 oz) and you should have 5.6 left to dry hop (which would be equal to dry hopping...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

New to home brewing and the forum, got a Brooklyn brew shop kit for Christmas, warrior double IPA. Within a week of brewing that I went to a brew shop to make another 1 gallon fermenter and ingredients for a slightly modified dogfish 60 min clone. One on the left is the kit, which I am dry...
