AG System Selection Help

I started all grain about 3 years ago. Spent quite a bit of money continuously upgrading the system and was producing some nice beers. I recently had a baby and time was a problem. Decided to do BIAB to see if I could save some time. I wish I wouldn't have spent all that money early on...

New AG'r - No Sparge Guidance pls

stick with the BIAB you originally wanted to do. I average 83% to the kettle to the "T" every time. I feel its all in the crush. I double crush and stir occasionally during the mash and then do a mash out. I bet if you try it you'll enjoy it. I used to double batch sparge and tried BIAB...

Any drawbacks to mashing with total pre-boil volume using MLT??

I have been no-sparge brewing for the last 6 brews, I do a double crush and mash out and have been averaging 83% to the kettle. I ask to all the brewers who say you lose efficiency, Have you ever tried it? I see no efficiency loss.

    DIY SS Kettle

My Dad fabricated me a kettle. It's a 16 gallon one. In my gallery there is a pic of it. It's the kettle on the far right. I added handles to it for lifting. So yes it's able to be done if you can fabricate and tig weld.

I got 1" square steel from a local scarp yard. It's not stainless, but with a fresh coat of red paint looks beautiful.

    Fermentation Time

I'll do two days at 30psi, then crank down to serving pressure at about 12psi for remainder. Kegerator temp is set at about 40. Always carbed to my liking. Plus I think ipa's should be consumed young. I don't want any of that aroma fading before i drink them.

    Fermentation Time

I've made many ipa's that I have drank in just over two weeks. ten day primary and about 5 days to carb in keg.

Any 120V Setups for 10 Gal Batch?

I have never actually timed it, but yeah I turn the elements on as soon as I collect my first runnings. Do my sparge and then pump remaining over. Like I said never timed it but it doesn't seem very long to get to boil. So if the spreadsheet is accurate 50 minutes with one element, you will...

Any 120V Setups for 10 Gal Batch?

I have a 16 gallon pot with two 2000w elements installed and have absolutely no problem boiling 12 gallons, my pot is insulated which I believe really helps, and i can even maintain the boil with only one element.

Just to get an opinion...MASH TUN MADNESS!

My keggle has two layers of reflectix on sides and bottom and a insulated weighted lid. It still loses temperature during the mash, working on a herms right now.

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

For those of you who no chill in corny, is it best practice to add c02 to the keg to seal it or not? I read the thread but I'm still not sure. Thanks.
