I need a Chest Freezer for Temp Control

I recently found a 5 cu. ft. Haier on Craigslist, bought a johnson ETC, and currently have it taking care of a weizenbock. My only problem with it is that because of the ledge inside the freezer, I can only fit one 5 gal carboy in it. You might make sure whatever one you choose will suit your...

    starter or no starter?

Thanks, I'm off to the homebrew shop for yeast and light DME. Is it possible to keep some yeast from a starter for use later on?

    starter or no starter?

I believe I will go ahead and make a starter. I would rather take an extra couple of days than spend the next several weeks wishing I would have. Thanks guys

    carbonation

It was for 4 volumes of co2, using some champagne bottles and pint bottles with Grolsch style caps, the rest are once used 12 oz-ers. I think I'll just have a homebrew and chill.

    carbonation

Thanks, I fermented for 2 weeks, og 1.052, fg 1.014. Gravity readings seem normal but it seemed pretty sweet. Will that even out through conditioning?

    carbonation

I bottled my second batch of all extract wheat, (plus some coriander, cumin and bitter orange peels) six days ago. I used a carbonation calculator that said to use 8.7 oz of priming sugar for a carbonation typical of a weissbier. This was more than the standard 3/4 cup recommended by most...

    partial color change

Aah that's kind of what I thought. Another question- when using extracts and adding spices, etc., does it matter how long you boil or when you add them? Also do you strain your wort before putting it in primary? Thanks

    partial color change

Hey guys, I'm on my second brew, I used a Coopers wheat lme, 2 lb muntons dme, 1lb sugar, threw in some bitter orange peel, coriander and cumin at the last half of a 20 minute boil, pitched safbrew s33. I racked to secondary (let the debate begin) after a week. My question concerns the color. I...
